It is truly sad that the song stuck in my head all day
« on: August 14, 2010, 09:54:21 PM »
is from Yo Gabba Gabba. Yep. That's right. I would share it with y'all, but I don't think you'd appreciate the value of the song.  :rotf:

And for those of you not familiar with Yo Gabba Gabba, it is a kiddie show. And the creators are bound to be on some drugs. Just sayin'. For those who are familiar, you know what I mean.

Since I've started watching Weeds, I can't get the theme song out of my head ~ "Little Boxes".

After awhile they started having different people sing the same song in different styles and languages.

I think I'd love that show for some reason. We don't get Showtime. We have all the HBOs, but that is where I ended up drawing the line for my husband. He wanted every channel possible. lol

I do like it. I like rap though. I didn't expect it to be rap for some reason.

Heck, I missed watching last year's season of Weeds.  Anything big happen?

The song that I CANNOT get out of MY head every year at this time is John Denver's "Homegrown Tomatoes!"

I haven't gotten to last years season yet.  I am on the 3rd season. I'm watching it on video on demand. There is another show started on showtime called The Big C. It starts tomorrow or Monday night, right before or after Weeds. I watched an early showing of the first show. Has a similar feeling to Weeds except it's about a woman who has cancer and she hasn't told anyone.

Oh yes, they've advertising it big time.  Laura Linney is a hoot - should be fun to watch.  We just re-sgned up to Showtime.  It is now cheaper than on a Dish package deal than the other way we had it.  We used to buy a package and a couple movie channels.  Dish Everything is now cheaper - $99 total.  Obviously the "X" stuff is extra

I'm posting here for a few reasons...

1) I'm trying to get my post count up so I can add dirty jokes to the Short Bus,
2) This thread has entirely too much estrogen in it,
3) I love everything about Weeds, and having a devastating bromance with Kevin Nealon.  :cheersmate:

I'll just be here in the corner in case anyone needs me.

Agreed about the estrogen problem. Swimming in the stuff right now.

I've had einen "Ohrwurm" for several days now. This one comes from Bill Chase's album recorded in 1972 named "Ennea". The singer, G.G. Shinn, is the dirtiest, raunchiest, filthiest white guy that sounds black I've ever heard.

If I could, I'd post a clip of "Woman of the Dark".

Shinn is from N'Awlins and the coonass simply shines through.

That oughta take care of the estrogen problem.

Contributing to the estrogen ranks   :-), I have had 70's sitcom theme songs in my head since last Friday.  You name it, The Jeffersons, Sanford and Son, All in the Family, Good Times.  They alternate, so one doesn't get stuck for too long.

But, after watching that pathetic display of a roast last night, the Knight Rider theme is battling in.

It was pretty bad.  Not anywhere as good as the other ones.

For some completely unknown reason, I know ALL of the words to Good Times (opening and closing credits, mind you), the Mary Tyler Moore Show (both versions), Welcome Back Kotter and Chico & the Man (to include the espanol). I cant remember the last time I watched any of these, but the words haunt me every bit as much as what I did for that *******ed Klondike Bar.

Just sayin...

Took a lot of trying
Just to get up that hill

I think the best one was Hugh Hefner's, when Carolla came out and tossed a hankie onto Hef's lap. I won't say what that rag was, but if you saw it, you already know!  :censored:

I watched it with my son last night. It was the first one I had seen.

OH. MY.

Even he thought some of the "jokes" were out of line.

Greg Geraldo was pretty good... the rest were either really bad or just not funny.  Whitney Cummings was terrible.  With a name like that, she should try porn instead of comedy, but she'd probably be awful at that too.

Ah, it just dawned on me what kind of "roast" y'all were talking about. I saw one recently with even Jeff Foxworthy in it and he looked positively uncomfortable in it -- WAAAAAYYY too far out there. I couldn't believe that garbage was on TV.

Some white woman sorta chunky (NOT Roseanne Barr) who fancied herself as some kind of comedienne. She came off looking like a ho. As a matter of fact, that's what they called her most of the time.

Whatever happened to the REAL roasts? Dean Martin-type? Don Rickles? Rich Little? (The sketch with Rich teaching Jimmy Stewart how to "do" Jimmy Stewart was a scream.)

*Sigh*

Oh my, I used to LOVE watching the 30 minute infomercials for those Dean Martin Roasts!!!!!!  :rotf:

One of these days, I'm gonna buy the complete set off Ebay. Not sure if they're still available anywhere else.

I remember those too....I thought they were wonderful!!

This one last night, was a shock! Then it became like a bad movie, kept watching thinking it would get better.

Chris...yeah, it was that Whitney-skank that my son thought was just not funny. He said it's one thing for a guy to say that kind of stuff, but for a woman to say it....it wasn't the least funny. He also said, that to bring anybody's children into crude comments/jokes wasn't right either. I was surprised that children weren't off limits...regardless of their age.
