Actually, Sigmund Freud would analyze that as the subway cat subconsciously betraying her contempt for the other primitives.
It's not really sloppiness or ignorance, but contempt, this crummy typing.

Someone who has respect for his audience takes care to present his ideas and observations in a neat, aesthetic manner. (I'm not talking about spelling or grammar here, but "presentation.")
Of course, one has to be careful; Pedro Picasso, for example, does okay with "presentation," even though he does misspell a lot of words--but that doesn't mean he respects his audience, it only betrays that he was once in the print-advertising business.
But in the case of the subway cat, it's obviously her contempt for her fellow primitives.
