He just makes me sick and I'm tired of hearing him lie and blame other people and act so effing arrogant.  At this point, it really doesn't matter what George Bush did or didn't do - he's used that as an excuse to institute his socialist utopia and anyone in this world who believes he doesn't have sinister motives is a DUmmie.

Sorry to hijack your thread, Tucker, to complain about our idiot-in-chief.

His speaking style just grates on me.  It feels so fake, and I can just see the lies oozing out.

George Bush may not have been the best speaker, though he was nowhere near as bad as the DUmmies claim, but he was genuine.  Much like Sarah Palin is.

That's the reason they hate their gutz! If you're not a lyin' cheatin' piece of bovine excrement I guess you're not really a politician. At least not a Dem politician. We have a few ourselves, but nothing like the numbers in the DemonRat party!

What is wrong with a civil union? I get that many states will not allow gay "marriage". But not even a civil union? I don't get that at all.

Gays rarely if ever push for a civil union, do they?  They want marriage.

You're right, they do want marriage. However, civil unions are better than nothing. At least if you want to have some kind of legal rights involving your partner. I know my state will probably never vote for gay marriage. I seriously don't get voting out civil unions though.

Have any states banned civil unions that grant rights to gay couples?  Most that I know have onlt stated that marriage is between a man and a woman.  Gays want not just tolerance, but complete acceptance as being normal and that is never going to happen.

I thought this post read that WI also banned civil unions. Maybe I misread.

Incremental demands. Both you and I know that gays will never stop at civil unions. Once they get that, their next goal will be set.
Come to think of it, unions do create jobs. Companies have to hire two workers to do the work of one.

They will fight for what they believe is right. However, I am not sure it will ever happen. Civil unions are better than nothing. And I hope they do continue to fight for what they believe to be right. I understand that my feelings about many things are unpopular here obviously. But so it goes.

^ I kind of agree. I don't like homosexuality one little bit. I find it nasty, revolting, icky, sick, disgusting, un-natural, and any other word you can throw out there. However, marriage is simply a contract you're entering into at it base level. If they want to get married, let them get married. Just don't shove it in my face all the time that you're married. Go about your business like I go about mine.

Don't lump them all into one group. It's the vocal minority that wants marriage.

They're extremely vocal though. Sometimes, it makegives the illusion that they're the majority with how much they piss, and mona.

Currently you can put anyone you want on your insurance, name anyone you want in your will or power of attorney, etc. Just exactly what else needs to be in a civil union not already there if one puts their name somewhere into a legal document.

Being married is actually a penalty when you look at my income tax forms. I fail to see what they want that they cannot already get just by jumpin' thru the hoops like anyone else.

so why did you even bring it up? And here I thought we had a chance to enlighten you to the conservative way.

What I've said, and I stand by it, is that I think many of y'all will find you have more in common with me than you think. That doesn't mean there aren't issues that we will see eye to eye on and then some.

I'll leave it alone. Otherwise I get my butt jumped.

I still stand by what I said when ya first showed up. You participated in, as far as I know, the most un-American site I have ever run across on the internet!

That in itself makes you suspect by my way of thinkin'. Everyone can agree to get along, even if they have a difference of opinion. The DUmp is a cesspool of left wing fanatics!

My country is headed to hell in a handbasket and you voted for the fool that's doing his damndest to send it there!

I don't post there anymore. And I am also very unhappy with the current administration, nor will I be voting for Obama in the future.

I see where you're coming from too. The DUmp is a place that....just shouldn't exist. The amount of people who post there is staggering. This woman partook in conversations over there, and mingled with the crazy commoners. However, she seperated herself from that. By choice, or by force...I do not remember. She has been given a chance here at the Cave. It's natural to be suspect of her. She may have brought her ideals over here, but that's what sparks debate. Isn't that what we ultimately want? From that standpoint, I don't see a problem other than discussing like a DUer, or going on the warpath like one. Which I have not seen her do.

By the same token, soliel, if you did vote for Obama, you can understand why people here may be a bit on edge about you. Especially when many people tried to warn many others who and what he is before Election Day. It's not only counterproductive for individual people, it's counterproductive for the country as a whole..

I'm still waiting for your answer regarding HIV and the gay community.  But meh--you think time will make it go away.

That's why we have search functions here.

ETA: I think ATJ will show up here eventually, but after this thread dies down.  Street cred, dontcha know.

As far as I know this is how it works.

I am not thinking it will go away. I thought we were done with that discussion. And what does that have to do with this topic anyway? I don't want this topic to get locked. I didn't start this topic, and it would be a shame if it got locked because of things being said to me that are completely off topic. If you'd like, PM me.

I have yet to see any discussion one way or the other. Every single time that I'm aware of, it's pretty much the same response.

Search for yourself. If she has actually debated, please show me where. I will stand down.
