A funny ending to a good episode tonight.  A good amount of gratuitous boobies and no naked gay guys.  :cheersmate:

This has been by far my favorite season yet!  Last night was just epic.  I am wondering what is up with the new waitress, she has some sort of powers, and with Lafayette and his powers.  They weren't in the books so it is all new to me.  I love the fact that they go away from the books some.  It is like getting to read a new book every week!

I have not watched this show and I don't intend to.

One of the reasons that TV disgusts me any more is this thing about gay guys. There's gotta be gay in every damn thing. WTF?

Mrs E looks at me like I'm a homophobe when I get up from the couch on the rare occasions when I do watch TV, usually because there's some kind of bullshit "gay is okay" thing going on.

Disgusting.

To be fair to True Blood, homo eroticism has long been linked to vampires, so it's not a new thing.  That being said, I completely stopped readin Anne rice's books because it became the center of her stories.

Years and years ago, I read the first 2 vampire books of hers, and made it maybe half way through the 3rd....and just couldn't read them any further.

It wasn't so much the homoeroticism theme....is was the whole vampire thing.

I haven't watched this show, read or watched any of the Twilight stuff, or even watch the vampire stuff on Syfy or Chiller.

I find vampires too creepy for my comfort.... :(

I tried reading Ann Rice's books and gave up after the second one.  It wasn't the vampire thing or the homoeroticism as much as it was the awful writing and terrible dialogue.

It was Rice's awful writing that turned me off to vampire books? Not the vampires?

I know!  Hubby was talking to me about eliminating expenses by cancelling the movie channels but ummmmmm duhhhhhh Dexter starts soon and I am NOT going to miss the season finale of True Blood.  He is just going to have to get a second job.

I just started reading The Passage by Justin Cronin. It is a vampire book, but I don't think these are going to be sexy True Blood or Twilight vamps. I'm only just started, but seems more like they will be H.P. Lovecraft vampires. I like the writing so far, and it came highly recommended as a vampire book like no other. We shall see. Quite a bit of it is readable on Amazon.com, so you can see if you like the style.

Just setting things up to go out with a huge bang I guess.  Some people are about to die.  My guesses are Jesus, Russell, Tara, Sam's brother, the new waitress, and the "gold digging whore" at Fangtasia.  Maybe that is all just wishful thinking though.

I'm surprised Sam's brother didn't get his neck broke by Jessica. I can almost guarantee that Russell will die, and probably the Queen as well. That follows with the major plot arc of the books. But then again, Lafayette was the body found in the back of Andy's car in the books, so who knows.

I haven't read the books, but at first I was really rooting on Sam's brother. But he's such an ass. It wouldn't hurt my feelings at all if he was one of the next to go. As much as I hate Russell, his character adds so much to the show. I will be happy to see Erik kill him (hopefully), but I think I'll miss him being on the show.

All I have to say is Eric better not die. I don't think he will, but if this season leaves me hanging with him maybe dying....  :hammer:

I am. It's weird. It's gory at times. It's getting a bit fey lately.

But it's the only soap I've ever gotten hooked on.

But I'm from that part of the US.

I was loving it until the fairy ending.  I loved the Russel punishment!  Too bad that Bill will most likely survive that fight, I am pretty much over him.  Lafayette needs to be the star of the show next season, but maybe celibate so my hubby can quit with his yelling "ffs!"

I thought Eric was a goner. I was going to be pissed off. I feel like Russell will be back, but I'll have to wait and see. The whole fairy thing is getting kinda stupid. I hope it turns out to better than I am thinking. Overall, last night was good. I hate to wait a whole year though.

I watched episode 9 last night.

How many are there in a series? 12?

And now to you Tiffany, for the weather.

No, my friends, there’s only one really progressive idea. And that is the idea of legally limiting the power of the government. That one genuinely liberal, genuinely progressive idea — the Why in 1776, the How in 1787 — is what needs to be conserved. We need to conserve that fundamentally liberal idea. That is why we are conservatives. --Bill Whittle
