U.S. Implicates North Korean Leader in Attack

WASHINGTON — A new American intelligence analysis of a deadly torpedo attack on a South Korean warship concludes that Kim Jong-il, the ailing leader of North Korea, must have authorized the torpedo assault, according to senior American officials who cautioned that the assessment was based on their sense of the political dynamics there rather than hard evidence.

The officials said they were increasingly convinced that Mr. Kim ordered the sinking of the ship, the Cheonan, to help secure the succession of his youngest son.

South Korea is expected to bring this up before the UN Security Council, but it's unlikely that China will go along with any strict response to NK.  The US isn't likely to pressure China on this because they need China to go along with sanctions against Iran.  Those sanctions will be ignored, and SK will be have to deal with NK on their own.

So basically, Israel and SK will be left to fend for themselves with little or no help from the US.

A couple of Russian companies were removed from the sanction list already to bribe Russia.

US military told to get ready in North Korea standoff

WASHINGTON - The White House said Monday that President Barack Obama "fully supports" the South Korean president and his response to the torpedo attack by North Korea that sank a South Korean naval ship.

In a statement, the White House said Seoul can continue to count on the full backing of the United States and said U.S. military commanders had been told to work with their South Korean counterparts "to ensure readiness and to deter future aggression."

The MSM touts the deals made by Lord Zero, but hide the details way down in the articles, if they report them at all.

I see no ones brought this up yet.

Sounds to me like thats exactly what should be done.  S. Korea was attacked, so we let them take the lead.  But we've also made it clear that we will be in the fight if it comes to it.

I don't think so.  Without having time to research, I believe I read somewhere that South Korea provides food stuffs to North Korea.  I could be wrong.  Wouldn't be the first time.

Well for some reason this man child has decided to poke someones eye. I do not think this is good idea. He should be fighting the borders here in this country. Must be a diversion of some sort. Or maybe wants this just before the elections!

They get quite a bit from the South, but they'll have to get more from China, now.

Israel may be on their own, but that one article said that Lord Zero is standing by SK.  Makes me think that he knows what SK's plans are and that it won't lead to further hostilities.

Strange the world turn of events lately huh? This could also just be excuse to get the troops out of SK? I know this is a stretch, but hey that would make China happy, Taiwan would fall quicker? Just a couple of thoughts for ya!

I suspect it just means he has found out the ROKs don't want to piss off the Chinese either, and has been told the Norks aren't up to a real military adventure unless the Chinese back their play.  He can look semi-tough on the cheap.

North Korea needs to be dealt with. They've been needing it for a looooooong time. It scares me, but this is unacceptable. But so is many other things Kim does.
