Yeah, it was kind of dumb, but the special effects were cool!  I still enjoyed it.

Avatar is an okay movie. Go see District 9. It is better.

I enjoyed Avatar. Was the story line "original" ?? Hardly. I could make many parallels  with the story line. The English and the native Americans comes to mind pretty quickly. The CGI was pretty good.

As far as movies & TV shows  injecting politics, Star Trek, TNG, Star Trek DS9, Star Trek Voyager, & Star Trek Enterprise were ALL rife with politics and social morals injected into them. Hell, District 9 had politics injected into it. I thought District 9 was a little too gory. I wouldn't let the little ones (pre-teens for sure) watch that one.

I felt Avatar had a weak character development. However, it depicted the future realistically. District 9 had more convincing character development and it was compelling.

'District 9' could have benefited from fewer uses of the word "****".

She seems to be doing better than most of the new people that find their way here.  They drop everything in Breaking News or the Dumpster. :whatever:

Sometimes it's difficult to figure out where a thread goes, especially one dealing with both politics , taxes and finances.

I am looking forward to Iron Man 2. Although I read a review not so good? I will have to see if I come across that review. It was a bit ago so?
I saw it Saturday.  The fair-to-middlin reviews had me concerned but in the end, I enjoyed far more than the first one.  It's one of the few movies I would love to see again right away.

I enjoyed the first one.  I think I watched it twice.

I really enjoyed 'District 9'... I must have watched that three or four times over a weekend.
