UK Election Results Thread (anybody?)

Ive taken a look at the Tory platform - definitely not as rightward as I'd like to see - however, judging by the current party planks, they seem to have a lot in common with the far more populist Tea Party movement here in the USA.

I have also noticed a whole bunch of new Tory MPs are women, as are a lot of the Tea Party movers and shakers. I can only look at these results and find them quite uplifting.

Woo! Never would have guessed Labour would go down like this. Love to see a Tory majority. Granted, I tend to pay more attention to the Her Majesty's realm to the north of us, but there's something about the Brit style system that's very intriguing.

Labour did lose quite a few seats, what seems to have caught the British off guard is not that Labour lost seats, but that the Lib Dems also lost seats. It appears that a lot of young British looked at the Lib Dems as their own Hopey-Changey skittle-crapping unicorn sort of movement, which didn't quite work out as planned.

This is true - but not as far left as it could be - Seems in American terms, the major race was between JFK Democrats and Socialists. Since this is Britain and most of us here have no say, Ill take the JFK Dems in a heartbeat.
