Is it any wonder I get depressed during the winter here?

My husband took his camera with him while taking the dog for a walk on our property. It's like this all over the entire winter long.

after which two photographs of hippyhubby Wild Bill's spread

1. It sure looks depressing to me

Do you have indoor plants to feed your starved eyes with the beauty of plants?

2. No.

With two extremely rambunctious kitties, nothing like that is safe.

4. Yikes!

I find myself looking for dead bodies ....

I'm sure it looks MUCH better in the summer (I hope)!

Nope, if one wants to see dead bodies, or at least parts of dead bodies, best to check in the refrigerator, where hippyhubby Wild Bill keeps his stash.

6. Geez. Snow cover would really improve that landscape.

Seriously. At least snow is bright and reflects light.

8. I think it's beautiful! My preferred time to enjoy the outdoors.

Oh, not that I don't occasionally enjoy a nice, warm, sunny summer day, especially if there's swimming or canoeing involved, but give me fall and winter. Summer can go hang itself, and spring is okay if it can manage to last more than two days, which it rarely ever seems to do.

10. Takes all kinds, I guess.

And you would be the contrarian on this.

Oh now, Mrs. Alfred Packer is disconsolate for two possible reasons: (a) she misses the loving caring family and glorious traditions that surrounded her back home in Ohio, and (b) she hasn't bothered getting to know the nice, kind, friendly people of northeastern Oklahoma.

Yeah, that does seem to be a problem with Mrs. Alfred Packer.

I dunno why; the very same people she describes, I myself have always found to be some of the nicest, helpfulest, kindest, people one can hope to meet.

I suspect Mrs. Alfred Packer doesn't really know anyone--outside of her in-laws--in northeastern Oklahoma.

8. I have.

When I met my soon to be husband on the internet, I had a high profile national account rep job, a fairly new condo and a new car. Was doing great financially. I left all that behind to live far away in the boonies in a tiny house that he designed and built himself. I have not taken anymore high profile jobs because I wanted to be home evenings and weekends with him and not have to travel for work anymore. Am making way less than I was. Never been happier with a decision in my life and have never looked back.

It's good to be employed but not under the circumstances you describe. If you can manage it on less, go for it. Your health is at stake, not just your happiness.

Even though Mrs. Alfred Packer thoughtlessly dumped her high school beau, remaining single for a couple of decades, I suspect she'd really be happier back in Ohio, among a large loving family that observes age-old traditions, such as doing Christmas.

Mrs. Alfred Packer's teenaged beau undoubtedly long ago married someone else after his rejection, and has since put in circa 30 years at the tire factory up in Ohio, meaning he's about ready to retire with a comfortable pension.

I think Mrs. Alfred Packer would actually be happier up in Ohio, even if single.

She could've evolved into one of those matronly old maids who dominate church pot-luck suppers, who set up the nativity scene in front of the altar, who run the charity drives, and who play bridge with the priest's housekeeper.

And who of course are always remembered fondly and affectionately by the rest of us.

There are fates in life considerably worse than that.

Southeastern Oklahoma was beautiful today. Then again, I'm not living in a cannibal/unibomber shack in the middle of scrub brush.

Well, I really doubt the hateful, weird DUmmy hippywife, living in that rundown shack with a filthy kitchen, has had many opportunities for "high profile" jobs. I also have a hard time seeing ZsaZsa Gabor working as a kitchen orderly in an Oklahoma nursing home.

Methinks the chimp who fumbled into finding the shutter button on that camera was making a play at having an artistic eye, and was looking for an excuse to post pictures to show off their handiwork.  Between the two, neither were very good: the excuse to post them up, or the pictures themselves.

:lame:

Is that taken from a second story or is the house on a hill? I notice the clothes line... that is a clothes line right? I can't imagine the laundry room would be on a second level actually.

My house is uphill from the barn....

This was taken from the kitchen window.  I put the clothes line across the front of the deck because my wife likes to hang out our laundry in the summer, but with her back and hip problems, she was unable to handle the steps to the back yard....

I can understand the fat hop-head's depression - by the looks of her rural 1/4 acre lot, the only thing that grows well there is weed, REAL weed. Not the "weed" that makes up 98% of a DUmmy's intellectual horsepower.

Maybe a potted Chakras plant with a garnishment of White Light would help.

I've been holding my orgone accumulator on my head for about ten minutes now, and still don't feel overcharged. I've apparently been running a serious orgone deficit. My arm is getting tired. I wonder if it's okay to fashion a chin strap out of duct tape, so I can wear my accumulator for extended periods. My wife is pissed because I dumped out a half bottle of curry powder.

The chinstrap sounds like a wonderful idea, and I'd sure love to see a pic of it.   :-)

As for hippywife's original photos, why is she going around insulting mother Gaia this way?  This is simply the world in its natural state, before spring bursts forth.  I don't see a thing wrong or depressing about any of it, my woods looks the same way.  Plus, that was pretty shitty of her to insult her neighbors that way, as redneck religious nuts and so forth.  Rural people are the nicest people in the world.

Hippywife, you're a bitch, through and through.

I bet she smiles and says hello when she goes to town and then runs to DU to bitch about how much better she is. Someone should let those lovely people know they have a traitor in their midst. Oh, and Mrs. Packer...if you have to run to an anonymous, online message board to screech about how you're so much more enlightened and smarter than those around you...maybe you're not as bright as you think you are. And what does this say about your husband who chooses to live there.
