ACLU Has Done It Again And it has made me a liar! Anyone else have a problem with them?

I told the guy who called for a donation for ACLU that I would send a check for $20 if he would tell those stupid people at ACLU to remove that stupid petition form they send out with black type on a dark gray background. I can’t read the damn thing – neither can my son or DIL.

I got their donation letter the other day and was waiting until they sent out the next petition before I mailed in the check. I got it today from A. Romero concerning my former Arizona Gov. Janet Napoltano and racial profiling and the petition is done, again, in black type on a dark gray background.

I am going to write Romero and tell him he can take his petitions and shove them until they change formatting and send out something readable in black type on a white background like everyone else does. Until then, no donation from me!

I find it absolutely juvenile and irresponsible that Romero would allow those petitions to be e-mailed on the important issues that ACLU represents.

1. They've done too much good in my eyes.

As a long time lyric reader from bands who think totally dark on damn near dark is cool I can sympathize though.

5. This is not cool unless they are trying to reach teeny boppers and at 86 I'm sure not one of them!!! How many people are being turned off by this? This is so stupid when we need all the support we can garner.

Wow.  The primitive's older even than the C-pig primitive.

6. Does their font and background choice erase decades of good?

Yeah, it sucks, and I hope they take your complaint to heart (it IS a sucky color combo), but the amount of people being turned off is probably pretty small. And either way it's not so bad that's worth not supporting them over it in light of all the good they've done. I mean, really.

Like I said, I sympathize, but not THAT much.

2. I've had a problem with them for many years and they only confirmed my feelings with their recent friend of the court, amicus brief, supporting the recent Supreme Court decision regarding corporate campaign contributions.

4. Welcome to DU..

Any good the ACLU has done is far outweighed by the damage they have done.  That being said, I'm glad the DUmmie is withholding his donation for whatever reason. (I doubt that he was going to donate.)

Why do these people think they actually matter?

At least you gave a chuckle to that call center employee who no doubt hung up the phone and said to the one next to him "want to hear what that idiot just demanded..."

Write it in White-out on bond paper, that'll show the son-of-a-bitch!

ACLU: The American Communist Lawyers Union.
“The American people will never knowingly adopt socialism. But, under the name of ‘liberalism’, they will adopt every fragment of the socialist program, until one day America will be a socialist nation, without knowing how it happened.” - Norman Thomas, U.S. Socialist Party presidential candidate 1940, 1944 and 1948

"America is like a healthy body and its resistance is threefold: its patriotism, its morality, and its spiritual life. If we can undermine these three areas, America will collapse from within."  Stalin

The Dummies should cast healing white light at the petitions - maybe they can collectively bleach the background colors making the text more readable..

Excellent idea! Maybe they can even kick it up a notch and cast healing UV light to speed up the process.
