My point being, most of the guys in construction don't have that much bodyfat, and to weigh that at his height, he'd be more in line with an NFL running back.  Dad, before he got sick, was 5' 7", 138 lbs, and could climb steel with the best of them.

So, if you're not an NFL running back with 6 percent BF, the other option (more likely for a DUmmie) is that he's got about a 42-inch waist and man tits bigger than his momma.

Frankly, he put in the "Internet Tough Guy" bit on just a little too thick.

More than likely you nailed it the first time.

Construction workers who actually make money are only out of work when they want to be. They don't cook, they only eat goose when they shoot them, and would more than likely kick the bum off the porch. Under no circumstances would they let the lady of the house answer the door with some worthless, filthy individual, knockin' and lookin' for a hand-out!

Oh, yeah, my physical therapist compares me to footballers all the time dealing with my rehab. Most of my buds that were in construction for any length of time had muscles in their shit!

God I hate this country.

As those few of you who have ever read my posts know, I live in downtown San Jose, California. The demographics vary from the homeless that tend to live by the river to the affluent that live in the high rise condos with views of the valley but for the most part, it's pretty working class neighborhood.

I've been out of work for six months and we are, at this point, hardly flush but I'm still in the kitchen preparing for our winter solstice dinner. Roast Goose with all the fixings and we can still afford two buck Chuck.

Is goose expenstive? I never bought it before but I always thought it on the expenstive side. And what the hell is two buck Chuck? Nice of the jerk to share it with a homeless man.

Hehe....I already asked.  per Sparky:

It's Charles Shaw wine, typically sold at Trader Joe's.  Funny, most of the construction workers I know drink beer or, in Dad's case, whiskey.

I never bought Goose either.  But I bet it is pretty pricey.

If I had to take a guess, I would say that it's 2 bucks a pound ground chuck as opposed to 1.49 a pound hamburger meat. Not ground sirloin but still good food.
Come to think of it, unions do create jobs. Companies have to hire two workers to do the work of one.

Anything that doesn't come with the letters A, L, P, and O on it is "good food."

Oh no, it's expensive.  It's currently wholesaling for about $6-8/pound. You know, restaurant-ready and all.  I'm looking at 10 duckling halves in a case costing at wholesale $88.

Hey Oceander, I think you made a great post up there about Habitat for Humanity.  Excellent points!  It's good advice for anyone between jobs.  Volunteer in something somehow related to your field/skills.  Networking is where it all happens.

I'm 5'7" and I would be starved to death long before I reached 138.

I don't want to dismiss the fact that there is a large segment of poor folk in this country. I suspect that there are homeless people who are in that condition by choice. They would rather drink cheap hooch that conform and be productive. That being said, the poor in this country have it better than 50% (SWAG) of the worlds population.

They need to STF up.

I have two old friends who fit your description exactly. Both on disability, @1200-1500 a mth. Would rather spend their money on booze then an apartment. Just the way it is.

If someone believes China has any intention of doing anything other than only giving "climate change" lip service, they'll believe anything.

.

China has more than it's share of problems
(1.) Can't feed it's people, building skyscrapers on land that should be for crops.,
(2.) Water, no clean water in China, period. Three Gorges Dam is already obsolete,
(3.) China is imprisoned....Siberia and Mongolia to the North, The Himalayas and India to the West,
Vietnam and Southeast Asia to the South.
(4.) a disastrous one child policy in which males are valued more than females Which will lead to massive internal unrest by guys with no hope for a future.
(5.) affluent neighbors in Japan,South Korea and now Vietnam will make their population say WTF?
(6.) 900 million poor people

Not one of them asked why he was eating an entire roast goose with trimmings and wine, and the bum got bread & water and sent on his way.

Now, now, Karin, he did cough up a jar of peanut butter, too!
