I keep up, so I am not surprised. I am disappointed. The mowing season is upon us and that extra sunshine just makes the grass grow that much faster.
There's a reason why patriotism is considered a conservative value. Watch a Tea Party rally and you'll see people proudly raising the American flag and showing pride in U.S. heroes such as Thomas Jefferson. Watch an OWS rally and you'll see people burning the American flag while showing pride in communist heroes such as Che Guevera. --Bob, from some news site

Moving the clock to the left or to the right has no bearing on how much daylight there is during the day. Days are getting longer because we're getting closer to the solstice. ..unless I'm reading you wrong.
Well, days get longer naturally between the Winter solstice and the Summer solstice, that is a given. And then when we change our clocks and add another hour of daylight, well, that's just fooling with nature. It seems to me we aren't saving daylight. We are spending more of it. We are saving nightlight to spend next winter. They have it rigged where it is dark by 5:30 pm on Christmas Day. It's just not right.

We're just shifting the time spectrum as it would appear to us. The grass isn't fooled.

I thought is was all sundials and hourglasses with you lot. ( )
You're just trying to confuse me with crafty language. I KNOW it will get dark an hour later. That means there will be an extra hour of daylight.

If that were a fact then we could leave the clock alone and just get up and start everything an hour earlier.
Am I to believe that you think the Sun knows how to tell time?

According to your profile you are eight years younger than I. Eight years. Do you really want so quickly to assign yourself to be a member of geezerhood?
The sun just hangs out there like a nucleus while earth spins around it like an excited proton, constantly changing the face it shows to the sun. It would be the earth which tells time. The sun doesn't care. We slow down the earth to cause each face to be exposed to the sun longer. This causes the days to be longer too.

Please tell me you don't believe this. When you move 8PM up, 8AM moves up as well. You do realize that, right?
