Already did the first go-round.  Leftovers are already bagged up, dishes done, and pie in the oven.

Gawd, I'm so effin efficient.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Food is done and I have deep fried 2 turkeys.  One for a friend who already picked it up.  20 more minutes of 'resting' for the turkey then we EAT!  Wooo Hooo!!!

Fried turkey.  Too bad nobody around here has really picked up on that.

Easy, easy to do and FAST!  3 minutes per pound.  Fried is the most moist turkey I have ever had.  Inject it with flavorings of your choice, put a rub on it, smear it with mustard, heat the oil (peanut) to about 375, drop the bird in and make sure the heat drops down around 350, watch the clock, take it out and let it rest 30 minutes.

We are STUFFED .... mostly cleaned up but I have to let the oil cool down a little more before I pour it back into the containers.

Hope everyone else is enjoying the day as much as we are.

Happy Thanksgiving to all!

We are having dinner at our home with the Post CSM and another good set of friends for 16 present and accounted for. The three families are each taking part of the meal to cook so that cuts down on the work of any one person.

I am finished baking pies and now working on the green bean dish, the corn, and yams. The house has been scubbed top to bottom, the dogs cleaned and trimmed, the cat brushed and bell shined, and boys No.s 1, 2, and 3 set to their rooms to dress accordingly.

I am dress for the occation with shirt, tie, vest, kilt, hose, and brogans. Wife is horrified, but claims I suffer from Tramatic Brain Injury due to being blown up repeatedly during the war and so they understand.

The game is on the big screen and the Packers are ahead.

The only saddness is my mother is in the hospital in Rapid City recovering from exploritory surgery. We are hoping that it isn't Cancer, but the outlook isn't great. This will be her second bout with it, I am afraid, and she's very clear she won't go through chemo again.

We've talk to her and Dad today, and will again this afternoon.

To all those here I wish the best of the season and all that!

Frank, all the best to you back home.

Hubby got up at 3 AM left me to sleep in.

This is the first year we have not had a house full of family or friends, just my mom and youngest daughter.
The meal was very simple since he was doing the cooking and cleaning thing, he even remembered to set a plate for our fallen hero in the war.

Only thing that was different was family kept calling on phone so we made a game of it and passed the phone around as we ate----No exactly good manors but what the heck.

Now I have the birds caucus in a big pot simmering on the stove, I would appreciate it if you guys can give me any ideas as to what is to be added to the soup.

I will strain it all to have a clear broth that can be drank from a cup, better then coffee in the early mornings    serve with hot rolls..

Please drive carefull and if you are going to hit the sales tomorrow, go to bed early as the stores will be opening at 4 AM tomorrow.

Happy Thanksgiving. This is the first time I've had to sit down at the computer. We had a quiet Thanksgiving, with only my son joining SR and me. My sister and BIL came over for dessert later, as they went to his daughter's home for dinner.

The pooches all enjoyed their turkey scraps. Blue, who's usually a very slow eater, downed his food with no coaxing whatsoever.

Hope everyone had a very nice Thanksgiving.

Glad to hear you two had a good holiday.

I just got home from work but my brother brought me a plate of turkey with stuffing, and yorkshire puddings.

Happy Thanksgiving to All!!!

WE....great to "see" you!

Frank....I want your metabolism! May be out in NE in the next week or so....helping the child move back home. :yahoo:

Dutch...kilts are so anticipatory.....always makes a woman wonder what's under the kilt.... :naughty: (me Grannie was a Mackay-Campbell...the Mackay from the Isle of Roan)

We had dinner at my runnin' buddy's house .....she and her husband, his 96 yo momma, her son, daughter and SIL and his mother, my son and his girlfriend. Great food!!! Nanny made the most food - stuffing, gravy, homemade rolls, sweet potato casserole, twice baked potatoes, pecan pies....she's incredible. Such a dear lady who was quite taken with my 28 yo son.... :uhsure:...must have told me a half a dozen times how "handsome" he was. I made New Orleans corn pudding, green bean casserole, brie and pesto in puff pastry, cinnamon whipped cream....I got the easy stuff.  :-)
Just hand over the chocolate...back away slowly...far away....and you won't get hurt....

Save the Earth... it's the only planet with chocolate.

"My therapist told me the way to achieve true inner peace is to finish what I start. So far I've finished two bags of M&M's and a chocolate cake. I feel better already." – Dave Barry

A balanced diet is chocolate in both hands.
