I imagine the Holder/Obama analysis goes along the lines of "If we win, we get the credit; if we lose, we can blame it on Bush and Cheney for rendering all that evidence inadmissible." If they end up losing, they are in for a rude awakening on that one.
I have a slightly different take on it.
If they aren't convicted, big loss for Dear Leader. Even as stupid as he is, I can't imigine them bringing them over without him saying 10,000 times "Are you sure they're going to be convicted?" That would be a disaster if they aren't.
If they're convicted, and there are no terrorists attacks as a result of this action, no doubt they'll play the "See, our justice system works" card. But I'm not so sure it's going to play like they hope. Rather, I can't help but think that most people would be saying "Whew! We dodged a bullet that time. Let's not do something that stupid ever again." And the drum beat of how this has compromised the CIA, etc... is only going to grow louder.
I see this as Lose-Lose. But anytime you play to the kooks on the left, it's automatically going to be a losing situation.
I find it rather interesting the primitives and the rest of the kook left are claiming that conservatives want another 9/11, but then they cheer Dear Leader putting them on trial in NYC which is the exact type of action that would trigger another attack.
