"SOME" Fear Bush could be target of NY trial
That infamous "SOME" has crept back into the Faux News studio with a vengence! Their headline?

Some Fear Bush Administration Could Become Target in 9/11 Trial

I'm sure "SOME" do fear that possibility. "SOME" likely are making reseverations for an undisclosed location in a non extradition treaty country as I type. You see, for "SOME" there could be a high price to pay for agreeing with, urging on and cheerleading the torture of so called enemy combatants rounded up after the heinous events of September 11, 2001.

<http://www.dailykos.com/story/2009/11/15/804601/-SOME-F... >

That's just too bad, mmmmmmmmm?

http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=389x7019131

So the DUmmies like this idea because they think they can get 2 things they want. 1 Booosh in a shit ton of trouble and 2 the poor mistreated innocent people detained set free.

1. It only goes to show there is more than one way to skin squirrels
and this is going to be the way to do it without any blood getting on the O man's cabinet personnel.

Ohh if they walk (the terrorists) there will be blood on O's hand.

5. That's why they're against trials in the USA
 Truth will out.

6. As in, they would be implicated by the defendants?
 Maybe.

It would be amazing if it was revealed that Cheney knew of the attacks before 9/11 because of a trial in the US Court system.

The media and GOP are sure putting a full cort, Sunday Morning press in opposition to the public trial.

Yeah that would be like Fitmas, fitzgiving and fitzoween all rolled into one. It will be a glorious 24 business hours for sure.

11. I don't fear he does, I HOPE he does
and I hope they drag his scrawny, little brush-clearin' ass through the mud.

Great set of priorities you morons have. You don't want the terrorists to face justice you just want to try to bring down Bush.

I live in SC. With cap & trade, electric cars, EPA rules and this stupid shit I'll soon be able to see New York from where I live......it'll glow in the dark.

I imagine the Holder/Obama analysis goes along the lines of "If we win, we get the credit; if we lose, we can blame it on Bush and Cheney for rendering all that evidence inadmissible."  If they end up losing, they are in for a rude awakening on that one.

I'd rather lord o and Holder top get credit than to have them walk. It pisses me off they are taking this risk to try to get credit.  :censored:

I do not see verdicts coming in these trials before the next round of Congressional elections.

It's probably going to drag on for years.

I think Obama wants to let them go. We will hear testimony of torture and then in a compassionate act O will release them.

I typed that last line and thought, not even O is that stupid...or is he?

Bottom line: this is more about perpetuating the torture myth than about justice.

It's probably going to drag on for years.

No doubt, I was just talking about an initial verdict, which I estimate is good for at least two years down the road, after motions, discovery, interlocutory appeals, and then the Circus Maximus itself.  For any convictions, there will be a long-running post-trial appeal process over several years as well.

Oh it's all about sticking it to Bush no doubt in my mind.
They are desperately hoping that a lot of ugly details come to life that Lord O can denounce and say that he will no longer allow to happen.
I don't think he wants to let them go just let the "dirty little secrets out". But, he is willing to risk letting them go.
We all know the things they did was not torture but, the rest of the world like the libs may think so. It's all a pr stunt that could have disastrous consequences.

I'm watching a show on History about the world trade center and the thought that Obama may be setting the stage for something similar to happen sickens me. This whole thing has me pretty angry can you tell?

I was watching the same show.  I had to turn it off.  Something about anger management.

Will the trials start before or after the GitMo terrorists are imported to the Thomson Prison in Illinois?

Conspiracy I can see, obstruction of justice is a little bit of a stretch, I'm not seeing the basis of the fraud charge though.  I'm sure there's a lot more to the whole thing than they could cram into that one short article, of course.

And also 'of course,' she apparently still has yet to do any time.

I have a slightly different take on it.

If they aren't convicted, big loss for Dear Leader.  Even as stupid as he is, I can't imigine them bringing them over without him saying 10,000 times "Are you sure they're going to be convicted?"  That would be a disaster if they aren't.

If they're convicted, and there are no terrorists attacks as a result of this action, no doubt they'll play the "See, our justice system works" card.  But I'm not so sure it's going to play like they hope.  Rather, I can't help but think that most people would be saying "Whew!  We dodged a bullet that time.  Let's not do something that stupid ever again."  And the drum beat of how this has compromised the CIA, etc... is only going to grow louder.

I see this as Lose-Lose.  But anytime you play to the kooks on the left, it's automatically going to be a losing situation.

I find it rather interesting the primitives and the rest of the kook left are claiming that conservatives want another 9/11, but then they cheer Dear Leader putting them on trial in NYC which is the exact type of action that would trigger another attack.

Convicting these terrorists is not the point of this maneuver. The president views them as his "brothers", but brothers who have screwed up royally by getting caught. He doesn't care what happens to them. What he and the rest of the Chicago thugs are counting on is that the weasel lawyers who are appointed to defend these guys will make it one show trial after another, condemning W and the Republican Party. By having month after month after month of daily reports in the MSM of the treachery and cruelty of the Republican regime, they are hoping to poison the electorate against anyone who would oppose the jug-eared muslim's policies or his re-election. They could not care less whether the terrorists are ultimately convicted or released.

GoBucks, you could be right on where their minds are.  But, what if it backfires, with KSM being extremely scary in the courtroom, inspiring a wish for stronger defense?  "Yes, Islam tells us that all good Muslims must kill all of you.  Absolutely."   Then a bomb goes off outside/inside the courtroom.
