Sarah Palin and the Dysfunctional Political Class
« on: November 13, 2009, 12:36:44 PM »
Quote
The frenetic hostility to Sarah Palin, even by many on the Republican side, is unnerving, because her qualifications to be president are objectively better than those of almost anyone who has been on the national ticket over the past decade.

A reasonable conclusion is that these qualifications are precisely the cause of the hostility. To admit to the reality that the dominant political class, including the MSM and the punditocracy of both parties, has been giving us abysmal presidential candidates, to accept that a hockey mom plucked from small-town Alaska is better than the best that the political class can come up with, would require recognition of the terrible truth that the system has become deeply dysfunctional. Doing this would force our political elites to look into an abyss of serious questions about the functioning of our democracy. Palin creates a cognitive dissonance so intense that it simply cannot be accepted...

Slobbering Palin worship at it's best. I want to have what the author is drinking.

Read the whole thing, if you can keep from laughing.

Pretty much says it in a nutshell, doesn't it?  The ruling elites in the beltway (BOTH parties) are being challenged, and they don't like it, not one little bit.

There are a fair amount of Palin supporters here, myself included.

I am not a slobbering worshipper but I sure would like to see her reside in the Oval Office after the next election

Sarah was and in fact IS better qualified to be President of the USA than the current POTUS. All the POTUS is qualified to do is read from the TOTUS, dither on difficult decisions , call for "confrences" and vote present.

Sarah had to negotiate with the EVIL "Big Oil", and did so successfully. Negotiate with Canada and Russia over such things as oil/gas rights, fishing areas, closed fishing grounds, catch limits, drilling areas, and who knows what else. Had to have beem effective/successful, as there is no kickback over what went on is there?

Yet, there is a kickback over damned near everything that Obama oes or , much more importantly, fails to do.  So far, nothing positive unless you know something everyone else does not.

Look at this silliness:

She's a fine person but I wish people would realize that she's not running for president.

It's hard to tell how things will play out, and even if I were to generally agree with you, I would still take issue with your sense of firm finality.  You have no way of being certain of anything regarding the the future, or even current, political landscape.

I think she's great, but 'way too much of a lightning rod to win in a general election.  She can do a tremendous service by drawing all the fire in the meantime, and then moving the football when the Dems try to kick it with a "Well, I'm not running for President, morans" once they have blown half their warchest sliming her.

^I'm hoping that was her plan all along.

She's got that fire that us conservatives have been looking for in the GOP. I would love to see her reside in the White House. I also wouldn't be disappointed if she remained a power player for our team though. Sarah has a place in politics. The repsonse she got during the campaign proves that. Now let's see where it goes....

No, my friends, there’s only one really progressive idea. And that is the idea of legally limiting the power of the government. That one genuinely liberal, genuinely progressive idea — the Why in 1776, the How in 1787 — is what needs to be conserved. We need to conserve that fundamentally liberal idea. That is why we are conservatives. --Bill Whittle

Golem, that article is nothing  compared to the regular knob jobs the Bronze statue gets from the MSM, particularly  Chris Matthews who FFITP everytime Obama reads.

Apparently the AP has "Fact Checked" her book already.  It took TEN writers to do it.   AP writers Matt Apuzzo, Sharon Theimer, Tom Raum, Rita Beamish, Beth Fouhy, H. Josef Hebert, Justin D. Pritchard, Garance Burke, Dan Joling and Lewis Shaine contributed to this report.

All I can say is WOW
