My future house.....
« on: October 22, 2009, 11:24:52 AM »

I posted this on my FB but wanted to show those of you who aren't on my FB.  This house is a couple of streets over from our house in our neighborhood. I am going to live in it one day....I am on a mission. Look at the roof and the way the brick is wavy by the front door.  I took the picture with my cell phone so it isn't very good and I couldn't get the whole house in the picture.  There are other amazing houses in this neighborhood. I think one day I'm going to drive around and take pictures and post them.

There are some houses like that in the historic section of town here.  In some areas like that , they still have brick paved streets.

They're tearing down historic houses in my city, left and right. It's a shame.  :bawl: The main reason is that people have died off, left the houses to children that don't care to live here or turned them into rentals and they have been let to rot.

I used to take photos of houses I loved when I jogged through their neighborhoods (when I lived in a tiny apartment).  I would tack the photos up on my refrigerator, door, all over my walls... I now own one.  Don't give up!

Oh BEG.....that's my kind of house.

If you love that, you would love my house. It's an English Tudor cottage....but only 10 years old.

Just hand over the chocolate...back away slowly...far away....and you won't get hurt....

yes.

You would be sooooo much happier with the prices on houses here. Not what you want to hear, I know, but it was about 2/3's what your's was.

If you've decided this is your next house does this mean you're planning on staying?

There is a Frank Lloyd Wright house in Dallas that I really like.  I saw it when I was very very young.  I told myself I would live in it one day.  I lied to myself.

No, my friends, there’s only one really progressive idea. And that is the idea of legally limiting the power of the government. That one genuinely liberal, genuinely progressive idea — the Why in 1776, the How in 1787 — is what needs to be conserved. We need to conserve that fundamentally liberal idea. That is why we are conservatives. --Bill Whittle

It's pretty doggone perfect for us. We looked at houses for 7 YEARS before we found one that we both liked.
As we came down the drive the first time - this is taken most of the way down, after 2 curves - all I could say was "Oh my gosh...it's our house!".

We didn't close for 3 months because the sellers were having "issues"...he told his wife - right after we told him we would buy the house, on his terms, no negotiating as it was an incredible deal  - that he was divorcing her....instead of moving her into the unbelievable house he was building on a cliff overlooking the river. Certainly explained the deal he gave us.... :o

One day you need to get out of the basin and see the rest of the state.

This spring go see the Bristle Cone pines and the conditions they live in. Find out how long they've been there and your time there will seem insignificant.  :-)

I hope so. Right now you're in the armpit of the state.
