My contribution: Jack the Ripper.

They say Jack the Ripper is the most infamous figure besides Adolf Hitler and Ted Bundy. There are many books about Jack the Ripper. Some people think Jack the Ripper is a woman.

Since I live in the Philly area, there's always "dese guys":
Philly Mafia

Now the "other Joey Merlino" (Skinny Joey's cousin) is trying to get a service industry contract with the casinos in AC and, of course, is claiming his total innocence of any gang-related activity within his "construction" company (oh sure!)

Two crimes that have nothing in common....yet both have had major impacts on the community....that no one living here when they happened will ever forget.

The killers of Channon Christian and Chris Newsome deserve to rot in Hell along side with Adolf Hitler and 9/11 Terrorist.  :bird: :redbird:

First one is getting life in prison without possibility of parole. There is hope that he will be murdered....soon...in jail.

Second one...who is the ringleader...the trial is getting ready. The jury has been seated. I think the trial is to start the week after next.

A lot of people are surprised they all haven't been killed prior to going to trial.

9:38 a.m. suspicious persons. Roe between Circlewood and Foster. Male wearing blue shorts sitting along road with suitcase in the roadway. Area checked. Unable to locate.

7:18 a.m. civil issue. 900 block of Deer Creek Lane. Reporting party states landlord tried to enter reporting party's residence through sliding glass door last night. Reporting party states she was too frightened to call 911 last night. Reporting party contacted. Determined reporting party rents room in residence shared with landlord. Options discussed.

But in point of fact, sir, we don't worry about y'all in Texas, because y'all have a demonstrated competency in GETTING RID of these scumbags, in relatively short order as well.  If only the remaining 49 states were so competent.

Not much happens around here. A few examples:

Pretty much--here are a few examples of Vestanumbers "high crimes":

2:00 a.m. — After a Charles Street traffic stop, Virginia M. Bates, 48, of 15095 Sebastian Court, 48315, Shelby Township, Mich. is charged with two counts of DWI.

2:42 a.m. — A D'Amours Avenue man has just been hit in the face.

9:33 a.m. — There is a complaint about loud music and singing from a church on Hanson Street. It is a group practicing the praising of the Lord for the 10 a.m. service. Police point out that these Christians have a permit to do so. Who the devil made a fuss is not revealed.

12:13 p.m. — There is a fist fight involving two gentlemen and three ladies on Lafayette Street.

1:58 p.m. — James Vigeant, 24, of 72 Elm St., Farmington is charged with forgery and drug possession; Jessica L. Mitchell, 18, a transient of Rochester, is charged with forgery.

4:16 p.m. — Jodi Morse, 34, of 32 Adams Ave. is charged with theft.

9:07 p.m. — Noise thunders from a South Main Street house where neighbors have some gall. A 52" flatscreen's nearly bounced right off the wall.

10:16 p.m. — On Chestnut Street, a couple yells, screams, bangs and throws stuff.

10:47 p.m. — Edward P. Gifford, 46, of 64 Crystal Springs MHP, Somersworth is charged with being a habitual offender

We had a dude drive a truck through the gate at the Augusta National with intention of, IIRC, killing President Reagan who was playing there. I could be wrong on the motive.

Yeah.

In 1977, at 33 years of age, Jerry Springer was elected Mayor of Cincinnati.
"When you see that trading is done, not by consent, but by compulsion - when you see that in order to produce, you need to obtain permission from men who produce nothing - when you see that money is flowing to those who deal, not in goods, but in favors - when you see that men get richer by graft and by pull than by work, and your laws don't protect you against them, but protect them against you - when you see corruption being rewarded and honesty becoming a self-sacrifice - you may know that your society is doomed."

Frank forgot to mention the infamous Von Maur Shootings in Omaha and not long after that two people were arrested for the murders  of a man and his wife while they were asleep. They used a shotgun at point blank range and both killers were teens that had runaway from home. They had thought that it was nephews of the murdered couple at first till evidence proved otherwise.

Then there is the Villisca Iowa ax murders that have never been solved, They happened many years ago. The murder of the brother of a girl I went to school with by someone that was a class or two behind me and his brother is in jail as well for a separate killing . The murder took place  in the local bowling alley in front of an entire bowling league with the killer using a Ruger .44 magnum semi auto rifle. That one to was done at point blank range as the killer stood over the top of the victim in the alley and pulled the trigger.

This was one done by a guy I was serving with in the National Guard. He flipped out after he broke up with his girlfriend and ended up taking an AR-15 and shot up the neighborhood until the cops and Sheriffs deputies arrived at which point he shot at them hitting one of the Deputies as he ducked behind the dashboard of his cruiser. One bullet hit the deputies hand and took the end of his finger off .Fortunately that was the only injury that happened because the kids father tackled him to keep his kid from firing off anymore rounds. He had already fired 20-30 round prior to that I think.
