And before you start talking about famous families...for the brief time that Algore was in the military he had a personal body guard.  Then he found a loophole that said if you get accepted to college you can get out of your combat tour.

Ummm...by the time his father was President he was already running his own Oil company, was married to Laura and had two young daughters.  He'd become an avid runner and was a board member on the YMCA in Midland.

I should know...my dad was working with him and sat on the YMCA Board of directors with him.

And at one point during his dad's Presidency...he decided to come to D.C. and help with 41's re-election campaign after Ann Richards poor mouthed him.

You should REALLY learn the facts instead of buying into the unfounded propaganda.

  She's still in college.  She won't begin to learn anything for a few years.  First the little airhead needs to be emptied of all the garbage propaganda that's been stuffed in it from 12 years of public school and then college.  A real job helps flush the shit out of young peoples minds.  Too bad more of them didn't try work.

I can't agree with those saying it must be some sort of liberal bias. Secret Service personnel are law enforcement first. They're probably the least political government body we have. They don't care whether the President is Democrat or Republican. They don't care if a threat to the President is Democrat or Republican. A threat gets dealt with. A non-threat is dropped.

To accuse Secret Service of some sort of liberal bias is an insult to these incredibly brave men and women.

Oh, I don't think there is a liberal bias in that group at all, but I do think there is one involving the reporting of news, and the willingness to leak information. If there are only a couple of reporters who know more details about this, and they didn't like what they learned, it wont get released.

I agree.  My brother was Secret Service and I met many fine agents over the years.  The last thing they wanted to discuss was politics.

The Secret Service really has nothing to do with deciding who actually gets prosecuted after they make a decision to charge someone, that is entirely up to the Justice Department.  While the agents are quite apolitical, there is a management layer above them which is not so much.
Also, despite everyone on both sides running to rat out somebody on the other side and annoy the shit out of the Secret Service and waste their time, only a tiny percentage of all those tattlings ever gets prosecuted instead of just being told to knock it off and "Don't make us come back here again."

Probably for the same reason this kid didn't get arrested. The secret service does not arrest people if it feels they aren't an actual threat. Some radio harpy isn't a credible threat to the President and therefore doesn't get prosecuted. Some dumbass kid also is not a credible threat, and doesn't get prosecuted. You're just making my point for me, Secret Service is treating threats against Obama the same way they treated threats against Bush.

A bunch of armed rednecks driving up to DC in a van with an actual plot end up arrested because they're an actual threat. (albeit not much of one, anyone planning to do a drive-by with the weapons they had has obviously never tried to fire a gun from a moving vehicle before...)
