jmodden (66 posts) Sun Sep-06-09 01:49 AMResponse to Reply #17 19. Beck resorted to McCarthyism in attacking Jones. He called him a "commie"...quaint.

jswill21 (10 posts) Sun Sep-06-09 01:45 AMResponse to Reply #19 22. Two posts now So how's that boycott working out?
Yo_Mama_Been_Loggin (1000+ posts) Sun Sep-06-09 01:51 AMResponse to Reply #22 24. If you worship Beck you're not very smart. I mean a minor cabinet post whoopee!!!!!!!!
ihavenobias (1000+ posts) Sun Sep-06-09 01:51 AMResponse to Reply #22 25. Explain to us how Obama is a radical left socialist/communist? Republicans can't have it both ways. If you choose to celebrate this you can't also claim the president is radical. According to your own logic, a true radical communist/socialist/marxist would never has asked for such a resignation, or accepted it.
Creena (425 posts) Sun Sep-06-09 01:55 AMResponse to Reply #25 29. I want to know how Obama is both fascist and communist. Since it is such a big fan of Beck, maybe it can explain.
jswill21 (10 posts) Sun Sep-06-09 02:00 AMResponse to Reply #29 35. I'm sure you do. But trust me, it's way over your head. Go back to chanting empty slogans - it's a lot easier for you.
Creena (425 posts) Sun Sep-06-09 02:10 AMResponse to Reply #35 47. I'm hurt! You mean, we're not going to stroll through the street of New York while you point out Becky-Poo's favorite Art Deco communist/fascist artwork commissioned by Satan himself?I was going to give you my secret decoder ring too!
jswill21 (10 posts) Sun Sep-06-09 01:56 AMResponse to Reply #25 31. Huh? "Republicans can't have it both ways. If you choose to celebrate this you can't also claim the president is radical. According to your own logic, a true radical communist/socialist/marxist would never has asked for such a resignation, or accepted it."Wrong.I guess logic is not one of your strong points. You do grouse well, though. I never said he wouldn't ask for a resignation. He did it purely out of political expediency. He has very little political capital left, and far short of what is needed for what's left of his agenda.
TokenQueer (558 posts) Sun Sep-06-09 01:58 AMResponse to Reply #31 34. Golly, we're just getting to know one another... ... it's a shame you are going to have to leave so abruptly.
ihavenobias (1000+ posts) Sun Sep-06-09 02:02 AMResponse to Reply #31 36. So he's still secretly a communist/marxist? Amazing how he's never been in favor of a Single Payer system. And how we never nationalized the banks and opted to continue the Bush bailouts. And how he's just barely going to raise top marginal tax rates to still incredibly low levels by historical standards. And how we're still in Iraq and Afghanistan and we still have rendition and wiretapping. As a Republican you should be thrilled that the left is growing more and more disenchanted. So which is it? How is it possible for the administration to do all of these right wing (at best "centrist") things resulting in disgust from the left yet the right pretends Obama is a radical leftist? That's some alternate reality you live in!

wndycty (1000+ posts) Sun Sep-06-09 01:58 AMResponse to Reply #22 33. Last I saw Obama was still the president and Beck is still pond scum. . . . . .who is losing advertisers. Not sure how you can say Beck won anything.
jswill21 (10 posts) Sun Sep-06-09 02:03 AMResponse to Reply #33 38. I'll help you out with that. 1. After a week long expose, Obama was forced to throw Van the Quitter under the bus.2. Beck continues to draw an ever-growing audience that already beats CNN and MSNBC combined in his slot.3. He has more than enough advertising to sustain the show. Advertisers love big audiences.I can't wait to see who Beck's next target is.
Dramarama (433 posts) Sun Sep-06-09 02:05 AMResponse to Reply #38 39. 1
ihavenobias (1000+ posts) Sun Sep-06-09 02:05 AMResponse to Reply #38 40. Britney Spears sold the most records at one point. Does that mean she was the best musician? The ratings argument cracks me up. It does prove there are a lot of ignorant, misinformed and easily duped people though.
jswill21 (10 posts) Sun Sep-06-09 02:07 AMResponse to Reply #40 42. LOL When it comes to politics, numbers are everything. That's why in the end we always win - and you always lose.

ihavenobias (1000+ posts) Sun Sep-06-09 02:08 AMResponse to Reply #42 44. I agree. That's why the economy sucks and we're in two pointless wars, because you've won. At least since Reagan. And as a result, the country lost.
jswill21 (10 posts) Sun Sep-06-09 02:05 AMResponse to Reply #38 41. By the way, Obama is still President, but he can't get any of his agenda passed - even with a 60 vote majority in the Senate and a large majority in the house.
ihavenobias (1000+ posts) Sun Sep-06-09 02:07 AMResponse to Reply #41 43. Great, you know what that means, right? Your party can't use the "Obama is too powerful, vote Republican in 2010 to help restore balance" argument. Keep digging, you can't have it both ways.
jswill21 (10 posts) Sun Sep-06-09 02:09 AMResponse to Reply #43 45. Again, Logic fails you. We use the argument that Obama's agenda is far to the left of the majority of Americans, not that he is too powerful. He's even more fragile than Carter at this point.
ihavenobias (1000+ posts) Sun Sep-06-09 02:13 AMResponse to Reply #45 50. Except in my previous comment I pointed out just how center-right his actions have been. You ignored that comment, unsurprisingly. -What's "far to the left" about opting to continue the Bush bailouts instead of temporarily nationalizing and regulating the banks and busting up "too big to fail" banks? Nothing.-What's "far to the left" about just barely raising top marginal tax rates to levels that are incredibly low by historical standards? Nothing.-What's "far to the left" about wanting to "look forward" with regard to investing Bush Administration crimes? Or continuing to wiretap and continuing rendition? Or escalating in Afghanistan? Nothing. You have no ground to stand on. You keep generically saying "logic fails you" or some variation, but FYI, just using the word logic doesn't make your arguments any more substantive or factually correct.
Yo_Mama_Been_Loggin (1000+ posts) Sun Sep-06-09 02:10 AMResponse to Reply #38 46. Wow As Barney Frank said what planet are you living on?Get a clue. Most people don't watch Beck. He's relatively easy to deconstruct, Read my post above as to why Van Jones is gone.
jswill21 (10 posts) Sun Sep-06-09 02:12 AMResponse to Reply #46 48. Deconstruct? Wow, is that empty concept still all the rage? Reminds of all when I was a graduate student.Van Jones is gone because he was an unacceptable political liability. The MSM refused to report who he really is, so Beck did it. Beck 1Obama 0

Doesn't open his ears to often does he?

Posted by KillCapitalism on Sun Sep-06-09 03:27 AM I'm sure Beck's ego is so pumped up now that he'll start screaming for Obama to be impeached everyday. He'll probably think that he will succeed at that too.
BD, that DUmb**** forgets one thing . . . There has to be an actual crime comitted to properly do an impeachment.
Not anymore...heh
S_B_Jackson (138 posts) Sun Sep-06-09 03:41 AMResponse to Reply #883. Next targets are likely Cass Sunstein and John Holdren.......That ****wad, Glenn Beck's been smearing them with the same slime that he was slinging at Van Jones. This is out-****ing-rageous!!!!!!!! And none of out elected leaders in the administration, the House, or the Senate lifted a damned finger in protest at this vile character assassination.... They just laid down for ****'s sake!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Tangerine LaBamba (1000+ posts) Sun Sep-06-09 06:40 AMResponse to Original message6. Remember Jimmy Carter? I'm starting to think we've got a re-run of that administration, a bunch of out-of-town amateurs in the White House, without the slightest understanding of how the Presidency works, how this town works.Bert Lance, Ham Jordan - those two come to mind immediately, mostly because they were thoroughly unequipped to deal with the power politics of Washington. Jordan's mishaps were mostly social, and the press corps loved him, but he was an embarrassment.Remember Carter having his whole cabinet resign? No one ever understood what that was about. And, of course, in an act of compassion for a man who had ruled like a monster for so long, with our backing, he let the Shah of Iran into the US for medical treatment. We all know how THAT worked out. That's what Obama's White House is reminding me of more and more. A one-term Presidency doesn't seem impossible now.January 20, 2009 seems like a very long time ago, and the feelings of that day more like a dream than any kind of reality.I'm very disillusioned so far, and I hate to admit that..................................
The czar's like Van Jones and that Joseph Mengle wannabe that is the Science czar are EXACTLY the kind of people the Little Goons want to run this country. They don't want the wannabe's like Pelosi and REid that talk a good game about socialism but eventually cave when the people express outrage. They wanted Obama to do exactly what he did...appoint people outside the purview of Congress,,,that would have direct influence and authority over policy and law...so they could implement an extremely agenda virtually under the radar.
Which is what I find so amazing. Why are they claiming it is a smear when Jones is everything they aspire towards? It's not like their repeating a meme for the independent middlers b/c obviously DU allows only hardcore libs. So why all the lies about lies?
Snugs....when you hear a Liberal accuse someone of a smear....it means someone is telling the truth about one of their heroes.
I'm beginning to think that unlike the calls for Bush's impeachment, there may actually be grounds for it, before long.
