Hmmm.

I just moseyed over in to one of the most cobweb-infested forums on Skins's island, the jobs forum.  No primitive ever responded to this, even though it's been up a while.

SQL DBA

At the risk of sounding strange, I have a great opportunity for a SQL DBA in Chicago. I want a DUer to have a chance at this one!

PM me for details.

I thought any acronym that had a "Q" in it would draw DUmmies like flies.

Having no idea what a SQL DBA might be, I tried to find out. I guess it's some kind of niche for an IT uber-nerd.

Uhm..I dunno.

A "DBA" is a Database Administrator.

"SQL" is "Structured Query Language" which is used to administer and access databases.

I don't know of a DATABASE called SQL for a DBA to administer.

There is one called MySQL, but it's so simple I can't imagine anyone would need a DBA for it.

I'm sure there were several PM's asking about the details, I wonder who he hired?

It would of course require someone to work for the "man", bathe daily, show up for work on time, work after 5 without complaint, not use sick days for mental health days,  guess it will be someone from FR or this board.
You see, I don't care you how feel.  I really don't.  More importantly, neither does anyone else.  Only about 200 people on a planet of 7 billion actually care about your feelings, and that's if you're lucky.  The sooner you grasp this lesson, the better off you will be.  And since almost no one gives a damn what you do, say, think, or feel, appealing to your feelings when you encounter differences of opinion is not only illogical, but useless.

I never heard it just called "SQL".

The only SQL variant I can think of that may need a DBA is PostgresSQL -- but IMHO, Postgres blows monkeys.
