HopeHoops (1000+ posts) Wed Jun-24-09 09:40 AMOriginal message A huge honeydew melon exploded on the dining room table last night. This was one of the largest melons I've ever bought. I only got it a couple days ago so I was a little shocked. My wife and kids were eating icecream and I went to pick up the melon to move it and BOOM! It blew a hole out one side and spewed seeds and liquid all over the table - flooded it and dripped onto the floor. It was not a pleasant cleanup. I've had them melt down before, but I've never had one explode before!

Probably a leaky microwave.
I once euthanized a ripe cantaloupe with my .220 Swift. It was a spectacular sight.
We kill them by ritualistic cutting in these parts.
Takes far more energy, but it does conserve ammo.
