That's the kind of "health care" they have in Canada.

I know Carl, I live in the Northern Tundra part, what part are you in?  We have a hell of a time getting doctors to relocate here.  They usually move away shortly, too.  It's too cold, their wives are too bored, pay is so-so, etc.

The Democrat party should change its name to the National Socialist Workers Party, because that is what they are for wanting the "useless eaters" to die off.
Those who would trade their liberty for temporary security will get neither. --Benjamin Franklin.

QUERY:

1) If treatment is to be decided by the efficacy/cost-benefit of the treatment would it have been worth it to perform surgery on Ruth Bader Ginsberg's pancreatic cyst?

2) Can elective abortion be considered medically unecessary?

3) Weren't HMO's pilloried by Michael Moore and others for their picking and choosing treatments over the doctor's wishes?
According to the Bible, "know" means "yes."

This is like a bad dream.  The government having access to everyone's medical history. (Hey Dummies, your abortions may now be public knowledge.)

This is beyond sick....no pun.  The USA is turning into CUBA.  Michael Moore, you got your wish, bitch.

Hi,

I heard an extended interview this morning on Fox with Senator Jon Kyl discussing the stimulus bill and the "socialized medicine" garbage they stuck in there.  I will break this into two separate items, what is in the bill as of this morning, and what he said about where he fears it is headed in the second post.  I will let the mod decide if he wants to link the two.

The discussion started with them commenting that the libs had accused the Republicans and Fox News in particular of over reacting, ain't that big a deal.  The Senator disagreed.  Here is what he said remains in the bill.

There is a $2.8 billion authorization to set up some sort of medical czar to collect all the medical records of everyone in the country.  The study will then determine what treatments are best for each situation, where possible money can be saved, and the key words to me was this. AND WHAT IS REALLY COST EFFECTIVE.

So far all they are authorized to do is collect data, do a study and make recommendations.  No big deal right?

Well the senator said it is a big deal because they tipped their hand where they are headed.  He said the goal was in an earlier house version of the bill and it got pulled, plus it is well outlined in Daschle's book and indeed he will be involved.

With that being said, I will start another thread on where the Senator said we are headed.

regards,

Hi, 5412.  I'm going to merge this with the thread we already have on this topic in General Discussion.

Thanks, and welcome to CC.

Agreed.  :censored:

My dad, being a radiologist and in his 50's, is considering retiring early instead of dealing with this BS.  I hope you Obama lovers are happy with yourselves.  IMO, a lot of the older (and more experienced) doctors could very well choose early retirement.  Guess what that could mean for health care, dipshits?!

With all the state budget issues, medical, dental and pharamcy school tution has sky rocketed! I wonder how many students will have to drop out???

Hospitals everywhere in this country are already moving toward electronic record keeping, you idiot.

MORE

It sounds like it's all being set up to save insurance companies money and make it easier for them to deny claims & procedures.

The stimulus bill does that, and calls it the Federal Coordinating Council for Comparative Effectiveness Research (190-192). The goal, Daschle’s book explained, is to slow the development and use of new medications and technologies because they are driving up costs. He praises Europeans for being more willing to accept “hopeless diagnoses” and “forgo experimental treatments,” and he chastises Americans for expecting too much from the health-care system.

I've been all over this since this story broke.  I wrote my congresscrud, but I doubt they read it (Upchuck belongs to me).  I wrote the AARP, and they wrote me back, saying "don't listen to the scaremongers on TV, this is a good thing, trust us!"  I wrote back and said "Thanks, but I'm not buying it.  Do not support the slippery slope to socialized medicine, under which retirees will surely suffer, much as they have in the U.K."

I feel utterly powerless.

I have news for you; the AARP supported Hillary care. This rotten organization is not concerned about Seniors healthcare or their penny ante collection of dues. They want to sell you their crummy mutual funds, their high priced car, life and hospital insurance. Their income from these plans total almost a billion dollars in profits. If you like junk mail 2 or 3 times a week, join this outfit.

Doctor don't make their own decisions.   The strings you see are that of private health insurance carriers.   Government is trying to replace those strings with their own.

Two wrongs definitely don't make a right.   It is a sucky system, but at least with the former doctors had the option of which health insurance they would accept from patients.
