Hi,
I heard an extended interview this morning on Fox with Senator Jon Kyl discussing the stimulus bill and the "socialized medicine" garbage they stuck in there. I will break this into two separate items, what is in the bill as of this morning, and what he said about where he fears it is headed in the second post. I will let the mod decide if he wants to link the two.
The discussion started with them commenting that the libs had accused the Republicans and Fox News in particular of over reacting, ain't that big a deal. The Senator disagreed. Here is what he said remains in the bill.
There is a $2.8 billion authorization to set up some sort of medical czar to collect all the medical records of everyone in the country. The study will then determine what treatments are best for each situation, where possible money can be saved, and the key words to me was this. AND WHAT IS REALLY COST EFFECTIVE.
So far all they are authorized to do is collect data, do a study and make recommendations. No big deal right?
Well the senator said it is a big deal because they tipped their hand where they are headed. He said the goal was in an earlier house version of the bill and it got pulled, plus it is well outlined in Daschle's book and indeed he will be involved.
With that being said, I will start another thread on where the Senator said we are headed.
