Monday morning
« on: February 09, 2009, 08:03:56 AM »
Good morning.

I spent the night with the three dogs in the same bedroom with me, doors shut.

The cats didn't like it at all, because the cats are used to all doors (excepting the bathroom) being opened for them to roam at will.

However, I had to keep the species separated.

The cats of course have full access to the cat litter box from anywhere in the house.

The dogs would have to wake me up to use the outdoor plumbing.

It was a rough night, the cats protesting, and the dogs confused.

We got some rain during the night, but the bulk of it's supposed to happen circa noon central time today.  It's not so much the water from the skies; it's more that the snow and ice got partially melted last week, and there's so much of it, and so it won't take much moisture from the skies to melt that.

I dunno about anybody else, but in Nebraska, there's "watches" all along the Niobrara, Elkhorn, Loup, and Platte Rivers.  Me, I live on high ground (which is why I have the dogs; the old guy across the river lives on low ground), so no problem, although it might become a problem if I have to go west or north of here.

Such is life.  One accepts, adapts, and moves on.

The sun is out and it might hit 70 here today.....sooooo, I'm off to the woodshop in a few minutes. I like to work with the doors wide open.

Stay dry, Frank!

Supposed to hit the mid 50's here today....not sure what I'm going to do today...might go to the library, if I end up heading out somewhere, or I might just hang around the house and do a little of this, little of that.

I do know I'm making stuffed peppers for dinner!

I sleep with three dogs (total weight=about 15 pounds) with my door closed every night.  It's not so bad.  My ancient poodle, Luke, now sleep on top of my blanket at the foot of the bed.  I have to help him up and down, of course, but it seems to make him happy.

It's rainy an cool(ish) here today.  We had a storm rumble through at about 4:00 AM.  It rose me from slumber.  Damn skylights.

High 40's today. :-)  Spring might be Sproinging.

I gotta run into the Big City and replace my wall charger for my cell since I left the "old" one plugged into the wall of the hotel when I checked out.  :thatsright:

I had class this morning and it was uneventful.  I have a doctors appointment in an hour for my yearly groping.  No work today, so I'm gonna spend my afternoon alternating between accounting homework and Mario Kart.   :-)

Corned silverside is one of the things that is on my weekly meal rotation. I've got a pretty effective recipe memorized.

Well, I wasn't supposed to work this evening, but I did anyway.  I got called by my boss in the middle of class, asking me to come in to replace someone else who'd called in sick.  Okay, I said, I'll do it (can't turn down extra hours  :hyper: ), and I went to work.  Typical work day, until around 10:15 pm.  Two of us had completed our closing chores for the evening, and were waiting for the other two workers to finish THEIR chores.  They didn't. :banghead:  One of the customer service team leaders had a fit when she saw the conditions of the bathrooms AFTER they had been "cleaned."  She forced that guy to go home, and we were down a person in trying to finish cleaning the store.  Then the other "bad" worker disappeared, leaving ME to finish mopping a particularly LARGE area of the store by myself.  I'm going to talk to the store manager about that.  :hammer:

My Facebook has been altered to reflect my current feelings.  Please excuse the foul language you might see there. :p

Extra hours are okay -- I'm picking up an extra day next week.  'Bad' workers suck... I hate it when people "dissappear" like that.

I don't normally do corned beef -- I need to pick up a hotel pan that will fit an entire side.  My problem is that most domestic US ovens will only fit (at most) a 1/3-size hotel pan.  The glass roasting pan I have now is too small for a full-sized cut of meat.  I do like corned beef and a good brisket.

I only got 5 and a half hours (I had an hour-long break), but it puts my next paycheck at around 33.5 hours. Pretty okay for a part-timer.  :cheersmate:

Oh, he'll be getting what's coming to him.  :evillaugh:

When I went to the back to ditch the mop, he acted all innocent, while the other co-worker (the good one, who was running the floor-cleaning machine.. :) ) apologized for the dipshit's behavior.  I told him not to.  Miss "C" will be coming in on her day off tomorrow to speak to store management.   Never upset Miss "C."   She expects all jobs to be done to HIGH standards, and if you can't meet those standards...clock out and go home, even if your shift isn't over.  :hammer:

We got an e-mail today... we are expected to work 40 hours a week, but no more.  If you are late or tardy, the balance of your time will be taken from your paid time off.

I doubt we would get the same treatment if we worked more than 40.00 hours a week.
