Republicans who know Gregg well say that Lynch must agree to select a Republican because Gregg, one of the most revered leaders in New Hampshire Republican politics, would not allow his seat to give Democrats filibuster-proof control of the Senate.

“He will not take Commerce secretary unless Lynch says he will appoint a Republican,” said the Republican close to Gregg.

Not only is this blatant nose-thumbing at Pony McHope-coke but it shines a very bright light on the fact that--after all that is said and done--Pony McHope-coke really is the machiavellian Chicago pol we always warned about.

It also dampens whatever hopes Pony McHope-coke had for hanging the failure of the stimulus around the neck of a GOP'er.

I Think Gregg is one of the true Moderate Republicans. Not to be confused with the regular new Englsnd Rino sellouts.

We did, in 2006.

Obama may make Machiavelli seem amateurish before the plunder is over.

And, yep, now the Dems will have to handle the failure, because we know that Judd Gregg's demand won't be met in, what, our lifetimes or before Obama's single term in office ends?
