Not working today--this is my off-Friday (on a 9/80 schedule).

Scrambled eggs, biscuits and gravy, tabasco on both.  Yummy.

Anybody want to wash my dog?

And oh yeah--poker tournament at the Legion Hall tonight.

I'm at work, but will not get much done as my business depends on other businesses to be open. Which they aren't. My boss didn't quite understand that concept when he said I had to come in today.  ::)

At least you're not working on commission.

I work from home, so technically I'm working but I haven't received any calls yet.

I do have to find the IRS tax tables for 2009 and update my payroll software today.

Dear Ghue I am SO ready for the kids holiday vacation to be over!  :-)

I am going to haul them out of here in a bit for a museum trip because their mopey emo-like demeanors are starting to get to me. The youngest is in lego heaven after Christmas but if the teen ager gets any more apathetic and bored she may need defribulation.

So what's up with you peeps today?

I'm at work and totally not wanting to do any actual work.

I'm trying to decide if I can go ahead and empty out all the file cabinets in my office and rid myself of the 2008 stuff or if I have to wait a week.  LOL!

I'm working... :bawl:

I am still in jammies though....M told me I was making a fashion statement though he wasn't sure what the statement was....yellow jammies with blue fish on them, a gray UT sweatshirt (his) and marled blue boot socks.  :o

It's cold and rainy out again.....

I am not at work but I'm exhausted now. I went shopping for house stuff, put a wild bird feeder together, painted the garden fence, did some more decluttering and I have just moved the sideboard and now have to put the contents back in.   :(

I'm back from Chattanooga and all the New Year's festivities there.  Twas a lot of fun, enjoying the tasty wings that Buffalo Wild Wings has to offer (Spicy Garlic and Asian Zing  :hyper: ), watching the bowl games (WTG LSU!  :cheersmate: But it was kind of a bittersweet victory for me.  Georgia Tech was my deceased stepdad's alma mater, so for me, whoever won that one, it didn't really matter).  and visiting various attractions.  My family and the bf's family went together to "Deck The Falls" at Ruby Falls.  That cave and underground waterfall are absolutely amazing.   :o  The timed light show and Christmas music was a tad on the cheesy, Stone Mountain-esque side but it was also nice. :)).  They also had some amazing rock formations inside the cave, like the cactus and candle formation (only one we were allowed to touch) and "Weight Watcher's Lane" (the guide was making fat jokes, since that pathway was rather on the narrow side, but everyone fit through it.

The Tennessee Aquarium has a new building (new one is Ocean Journey... old building is River Journey), and why no one told me about it, makes me a little angry. :bird:  They had the cutest pair of hyacinth macaws that were more than happy to entertain the crowd with their old-couple-esque bickering. The female kept trying to shove the male off his tree branch.  :rotf:  And petting the sting rays? Priceless, especially when the little bastards decide they want to splash you. :lmao:   The butterfly garden was lovely, and some of them were as big as a small bird.

The new sharks (sandbar and sandtiger) and penguin areas were also fun.  This new area seems to have been made to compete with certain areas of the Georgia Aquarium (the tunnel underneath the main tank at GA) and I MUCH prefer how Tennessee did their tunnel.  They had a shark cage available for people to step into and be locked in.  This one dad was dragging his kids into it, and made a funny "Finding Nemo" reference to it.

I did get wasted on New Year's eve, but I also got sick.  I'm alright now, but I won't be drinking like that again.  I had about 4 23 ounce glasses of Sam Adams and a couple of Blue Moons with orange slices (they had it on tap...WOOT!)  Next time, I stick to the bottles.  :uhsure:

Didn't have to work today so I did a little shopping. I went to the ASU Bookstore in Tempe and got a new baseball cap and t-shirt (spent my gift certificate that I won in a dessert contest).

Then I went to IKEA and went a little bonkers. Bought lots of stuff for my kitchen, a couple of nifty lamps, and a pot for my big artificial plant on my balcony patio. I'm so glad that store isn't close to me or I would be there everyday.

Then I went to Big Lots and picked up some simple plastic patio chairs.

Finally, I stopped at Walmart and bought some groceries and a hummingbird feeder.

My patio looks all spruced up and pretty. I might actually go out there and sit a while now. I can see it from my kitchen window and now I smile when I look out there instead of frown.

It's not like they're hiding the aquarium. :lmao:  Srsly, I don't follow it.  I never go to Chattanooga, but it is nice.

My day was okay.  The IT department made room for me on their calendar, so I'm on a probationary period with them starting next Wed.  Apparently, things have been hopping over there but that's what happens when you take a week off while everything else keeps running.  They are in the process of designing a new data center and need someone to do the busywork of setting up the routers and configuring them on top of the break/fix work I've been asked to do.

Hush, you! :asssmack:

Yeah, but its been a few years since I went there (school trip).  I never even knew they were planning that 2nd building.  All I've ever thought about was the Georgia Aquarium and its beluga whales (and future dolphin exhibit  :hyper: ).   I would have gone back to the Tennessee Aquarium a LOT sooner had I known about the 2nd building.

Plus, I actually PREFER the Tennessee Aquarium's set-up over the GA one.  GA is a big jumbled mess, and TN is much more organized, with its one path through the place.
