Great news Chris!!!!

I'm happy.  Even if nothing comes of it, it's still an improvement over the last twelve miserable months.  I have friends in other places... if I can add this or that to my resume, there's always a chance I can get a better job somewhere else.  A friend's husband is the Big Kahuna for the State of Tennessee's WAN department (I have another friend/accquaintance that is a network security admin downtown).  He knows people that knows people, so networking with him is always eventful.  His wife works for Nissan as a DBA.

Do you want to stay in Nashville?

Mitsubishi is over in Blount County, and Panasonic is here at Forks of the River.
Just hand over the chocolate...back away slowly...far away....and you won't get hurt....

Save the Earth... it's the only planet with chocolate.

A balanced diet is chocolate in both hands.

I like it here, but my resume is pretty thin at the moment.  If I can beef it up a little bit, I will probably move to wherever I can get a good job even if I have to move to Alaska.  That will probably be a couple years from now.  I'm not familiar with much of the state outside of Nashville and whatever I-40 passes through.  I did get lost in Van Buren county once.  Talk about sticks.

It's not bad here....but I have been here since '83. I probably would not voluntarily move here, as I'm really still a midwesterner at heart, and would go back given the opportunity.

It has been, however. a great place to raise my kids. Crime is relatively low...most murders are done by a person known to the victim, and not a lot of other crime.

Close to the mountains and less than 6 hrs to the SC Atlantic coast, 8 hrs to the FL Gulf coast.

Not sure what you are looking for, but you might go online and do some research for the area.

I have been considering Atlanta.  There's always a need for people, but it's a busy, crowded place.  There's always the option of moving to less-populated areas that need competent people.  I've always wanted to see the midwest/western US.

I'm still planning on using my PTO time for this year to take a couple weeks off and see the country.  I've never been further west than St. Louis.

There's tons of IT companies in Austin, TX.
