In honor of Franks temporary absence as I believe he is expecting this primitive to surrender the second home he owns for the greater good.
Oh my.
I just woke up, but have to be at a college in a faraway town this morning (Friday morning), and will be back here circa early or mid afternoon.
Anyway, I had a great time, one of those eye-opening times, New Year's Eve among the derelict homeless. The reason was explained in the "taking off" thread in the Lounge here, no need to repeat it.
It wasn't as exciting as--and somewhat colder than--last New Year's Eve among the Native American poor in North Dakota, but it was illuminating.
I'll write about it later today, but I had to say this:
As I was getting up to leave, and shaking the hand of my host, slipping a $10 bill into the palm of his hand--I had Haig & Haiged and Grand Marniered (sp) my host, and so he was rather, uh, effervescent--he hollered, "Bye, buddy, and good luck! I hope Boma [0bama] gets that second house for you, from that selfish rich guy!"
I kid you not.
