I know you will think I'm crazy.....but I do miss those Nebraska snow storms.
Here when it snows, widespread panic, the world stops, severe power outages from the heavy snow on tree limbs bringing down the trees over the lines....you don't get "plowed out'....you're stuck in the house for days, and hoping that the power stays on. Not fun.
Snowstorms in Nebraska, blizzards in Nebraska, outside of Omaha and Lincoln, are great.
They're not so great in Omaha because Omaha is 90% steep hills, sitting there on the banks of the Missouri River, the most important river in America, and one can't do a whole lot about the hazards presented by snow on hills.
They're not so great in Lincoln because Lincoln although utterly flat, flat as a pancake with streets as wide as the Panama Canal, is somewhat populated with impatient intolerant angry Democrats, liberals, and primitives who drive as if no one else is on those streets. It's the "it's mine mine mine" mentality of such people.
But outside Omaha and Lincoln, it's great to stand and gaze in wonder and awe at the forces of nature, God reminding us of
man's utter insignificance in regards to geography, terrain, climate, and weather.
However generally it's not a good idea to stand and gaze outside too long.
