Busy week ahead.  Meetings and a 3 hour training class. Yippee. :(

Cold as hell here this morning.

I gotta get the Mancub motervated and packed for school.  Hope everyone has a reasonable facsimile of a nice day.

Cold as hell here this morning.

It's not warm here in the Sandhills of Nebraska this morning, but it's not cold either.

Something in between.

Someone wants to pay me for a resume, although I insisted no, it's not necessary, it's just a favor, no big deal, no hair off my ass.

But he insists.

It was one page, standard run-of-the-mill ordinary everyday resume.

Took me three minutes to write, and another 30 seconds to format.

Anybody know what the going rate is for a "service" such as this?  Fifty cents or something?

Short week (off Friday).  Snow no longer in the forecast, but will be colder than a witches' teat.  Low teens by the weekend.

29 degrees and thankfully rising in S.c.. Now to some people and in some places that would be warm but not to me.

...and BTW. It's going to be Monday all day today.

Cold here today, and not sure how to act now that football season is over!  I guess my life will now be consumed with Nutcracker stuff until the middle of December.

Had the football banquet yesterday, all 4 divisions of the Broncos were there.  Got a call Saturday afternoon that they were putting together a slide show/picutre presentation thing for all the groups, but they didn't have time to do one for the PeeWees :bird:.  Coach asked us if we could put one togther, so we spent Saturday eveing going through picts, etc, and putting it togther.  I hate to brag, but ours kicked butt.  Looked a million times better than the other one, music was better, everything.    We are doing a real highlights video thing, that will be about 40 minutes long, too, and plan on giving a copy to all the team members.   The guy who did the other division?  He's charging $5 a vido for the cheesy thing he put together!  :whatever:

Anyway.

Nothing too exciting today.  Just enjoying the peace and quiet!

Woke up early and started putting the finishing touch on the paper I procastinated so long about (I truly do need that bumper sticker that says "Procrastinators UNITE..... tomorrow" ).  It's almost done.  All I have to do now is go back and add in my citations (not too difficult for me to do in that manner, given the APA style format) and create a title page.  :cheersmate:

I'll be working this evening and tomorrow, then will have Wednesday and Thursday off for class and some Christmas shopping.

I fell asleep on the sofa again last night.  At least it's comfy and I slept well.  I was just so tired that I fell asleep watching Bridezillas last night.

Today is busy.  A ton of work came in the Saturday mail.  It's the day receptionist's birthday, so we're going out for lunch at Benihana.   :-)

My algebra professor finally posted grades last night.  I got an A.  So, that's all As this term. w00t!  :hyper:

Oh and it's beautifully sunny and 63 right now.   :-)

Warm and sunny, like it will be most of the winter.  :-)

I had the weekend off and yesterday went to a hospital in Vegas to visit a dear family friend. I then took my mother to a wonderful brunch that included all you can drink bloody marys...I only had one...but the food and drink was awesome...then I won $200 which is a nice compliment to the $1200 I won the night before.

Today before work I need to run my mom's car up to get an oil change and stop by the post office to pick up a check I have been waiting on. I have been having to pay for Rx drugs out of pocket from my work related injury in Illinois last Jan...and the lad
y quit sending the checks, lost receipts, and then would not return my calls...I am just getting paid for drugs I bought on Oct 10th!! ($600)

My neck is still jacked up a little and so is my low back....but at least my top vertebrae is no longer resting on the base of my skull, its about 60% better then it was in May...but the therapy and doctor visits continue. The physical therapy often sends the neck into spasm and then the migraines start....it pretty much sucks...but it was my choice to return to work, and I know I went back a little early, but I just deal with it.

The Casino in Vegas was packed....damn economy.  :-)

I had mentioned to Undies in another thread that there is nothing left to go wrong with my teeth and then last friday I had the worst pain on the right side of my jaw.  I wanted to DIE.  I used some Hydrocodone I had left over, didn't even touch that pain.  My daughter has Tylenol-Codeine for her migraines, used that, didn't help.  Ate ibuprofen like candy (4 at a time) and it did help some.  Then I wondered if I could have a sinus infection so I started taking some Cephalexin in hopes that it would help.

Anyway, after I took all these medications (not all at once but I did take more than one dose of each) I thought I would probably OD and not wake up so I was afraid to go to sleep (plus the pain was that bad that I couldn't sleep).  I must of fallen asleep at some point because when I woke up the pain was gone.  It came and went all weekend but it never got as bad as it was friday night.  Each time it came back it was a little less than it was the time before.  Went to the dentist this morning and he did another round of x-rays (just had x-rays a couple of weeks ago) and he couldn't see anything.  Apparently my bottom right molar has "fused" roots and so if I do end up needing a root canal if there is something wrong that he can't see on the xray, he said he wont touch it and will send me to a specialist but at the moment he couldn't see anything wrong with my tooth or the surrounding tissue.  He pushed on all my teeth with one of his tools and it didn't hurt although at times when I bite down it hurts on my back right molar (but not always, it's very weird).  Then he did some "ice" test thing to see if any of my teeth were sensitive to the cold and they weren't.  He also was pushing all over on my gums, jaw, neck, back of my head and on my face.  I really didn't have any pain at the time.

He said it very well could be a sinus infection so he told me the antibiotics I am taking would cover a sinus infection so he told me to continue them at the dosage I was taking, get a decongestant and continue to take the ibuprofen (4 tables (800 mg) every six hours).  In three days he will call me and see how I am.  He also said that this all could have something to do with my eye thing (it is on the right too) or the fact that I haven't used my mouth guard for over a week (it should come in tomorrow).  I could have "bruised" my tooth (or something like that) from grinding my teeth (which is what I thought it was when I first started feeling pain).  If you continue to bruise it by either grinding or chomping on hard stuff like ice, etc. it can get so bad that you need a root canal.   :(  I swear it hurt so bad friday that if I had to live with the pain I would have pulled my teeth out myself if it would have helped.  I hope all it is is a sinus infection and that I don't have to have any more dental work done.  Not because of the expense as much as I have a crown on the tooth with the "fused" roots and the crown is PERFECT and I don't want to screw it up.

Other than that I'm making chili tonight for dinner, going to serve it with Frito's, cheese and I'm going to make some cornbread.  I also made two pumpkin pies today.  They are in the oven right now.  Oh I get to go to the eye doctor tomorrow to see how my eye is doing.  Wish me luck that the UVeitis gone and I can start to get off all this medication.

Side Note: I know that this post would qualify for the whiney zone but I'm posting it here anyway.

Hey! I told them I didn't need nitrous oxide or novacaine. He insisted on the novacaine and won out.

The nitrous oxide is overkill but why would you do it without novacaine?  You are insane?

I'm actually thankful it's Monday (sort of a vacation from my vacation thing).

I got stuck climbing around on the roof stringing up the Christmas lights , so that I wouldn't be trying to do it with a foot of snow complicating matters.

But then, I did buy a new pistol this weekend, so I guess it just about evened out (except for the 3-hour wait to get the blessings of CBI on the transaction  :banghead: ).

It was just messin' with him.

My old boss's wife (she worked at the company too) had a lot of trouble with her teeth so she went to the dentist pretty frequently.  She always acted like a "bad ass" and would say each time she came back from the dentist that she never got novacaine because she felt no pain.  I never believed her.  I know that there are people who actually do not feel pain but for some reason I thought she always said she didn't use novacaine as a way of sounding "tough".

Picked up another Springfield Armory XD-45.  The 5" "Tactical" model this time.  Sportsman's Warehouse's gun department has been picked clean since the election.  This pistol had been out on the rack for less than an hour when I pointed to it, said "I want that one", and began filling out the Form 4473.  And then spent the next 3 hours waiting for CBI to come back with the approval from NICS.  The guys at the counter said - while I was waiting - that there had been a guy that had looked at the gun about 15 minutes before I got there, and said he was going to think about it.

I got hired on as a permanent employee at work today.  I don't really want to, but they stopped me and made me go to HR to fill out an I9.  Oh well.  At least I get a raise.

Yeah, not really.  I'm going to stick around long enough to get some bills paid off and maybe use the insurance to have another eye surgery done.  I really don't want to stay there unless I can move up from the helpdesk, but it's a small company.  I don't think that's going to happen unless somebody dies or gets fired and I've already interviewed with them twice before and didn't get hired.

I was in the same position.  The lady I replaced got sick and really couldn't work anymore, so that's why I got promoted.
