I had mentioned to Undies in another thread that there is nothing left to go wrong with my teeth and then last friday I had the worst pain on the right side of my jaw. I wanted to DIE. I used some Hydrocodone I had left over, didn't even touch that pain. My daughter has Tylenol-Codeine for her migraines, used that, didn't help. Ate ibuprofen like candy (4 at a time) and it did help some. Then I wondered if I could have a sinus infection so I started taking some Cephalexin in hopes that it would help.
Anyway, after I took all these medications (not all at once but I did take more than one dose of each) I thought I would probably OD and not wake up so I was afraid to go to sleep (plus the pain was that bad that I couldn't sleep). I must of fallen asleep at some point because when I woke up the pain was gone. It came and went all weekend but it never got as bad as it was friday night. Each time it came back it was a little less than it was the time before. Went to the dentist this morning and he did another round of x-rays (just had x-rays a couple of weeks ago) and he couldn't see anything. Apparently my bottom right molar has "fused" roots and so if I do end up needing a root canal if there is something wrong that he can't see on the xray, he said he wont touch it and will send me to a specialist but at the moment he couldn't see anything wrong with my tooth or the surrounding tissue. He pushed on all my teeth with one of his tools and it didn't hurt although at times when I bite down it hurts on my back right molar (but not always, it's very weird). Then he did some "ice" test thing to see if any of my teeth were sensitive to the cold and they weren't. He also was pushing all over on my gums, jaw, neck, back of my head and on my face. I really didn't have any pain at the time.
He said it very well could be a sinus infection so he told me the antibiotics I am taking would cover a sinus infection so he told me to continue them at the dosage I was taking, get a decongestant and continue to take the ibuprofen (4 tables (800 mg) every six hours). In three days he will call me and see how I am. He also said that this all could have something to do with my eye thing (it is on the right too) or the fact that I haven't used my mouth guard for over a week (it should come in tomorrow). I could have "bruised" my tooth (or something like that) from grinding my teeth (which is what I thought it was when I first started feeling pain). If you continue to bruise it by either grinding or chomping on hard stuff like ice, etc. it can get so bad that you need a root canal.

I swear it hurt so bad friday that if I had to live with the pain I would have pulled my teeth out myself if it would have helped. I hope all it is is a sinus infection and that I don't have to have any more dental work done. Not because of the expense as much as I have a crown on the tooth with the "fused" roots and the crown is PERFECT and I don't want to screw it up.
Other than that I'm making chili tonight for dinner, going to serve it with Frito's, cheese and I'm going to make some cornbread. I also made two pumpkin pies today. They are in the oven right now. Oh I get to go to the eye doctor tomorrow to see how my eye is doing. Wish me luck that the UVeitis gone and I can start to get off all this medication.
Side Note: I know that this post would qualify for the whiney zone but I'm posting it here anyway.
