From your lips to God's ear.

and assuming that the republicans don't knock off mary landrieu, which would change things a little.

If the Republicans can hold onto enough seats to prevent the Dems from having 60 votes...that makes them filibuster proof and they can keep blocking the stupid stuff the Dems tried to pass in the last two years.

The rules the Dems slid through in 2002 to try and screw the President are coming back to bite them in the ass now.

It was the Dems that pushed for a rule change requiring a super majority instead of a simple majority to pass anything in the upper house.

Well, I've been trying to hold out hope, but I think it's pretty much over now.  Obama is gonna take Cali, and it'll be all over from there.

True...but we don't seem to have the balls to pull it.

Instead we get the "gang of 14" and what was left of the Republican testicles get carved off as a result.

I'm just tuning you out tonite CH.  You've been half way sounding like you were happy with the results since the outset.

Seems best we can hope for now is to not lose any more seats and then retake congress during the next midterm :hammer:

LA has gone for mccain;  that is potentially good news for mary landrieu's opponent, john kennedy.

It's way too close in the popular vote.

I bet some states and some races will have to be switched.

As someone here predicted, it's going to be a long night; lots and lots of excitement to come yet.

I'm not going to believe anything until tomorrow morning. Even then, there MIGHT be some hope that the election was AFU, etc. Of course, there's STILL the issue of Obama's citizenship. That has yet to be resolved.(if it ever will be)

They basically said it's virtually impossible for McCain now after Ohio and PA.

Couldn't agree more frank.  Calling Ohio for Obama with only 9% of the votes counted and 311 uncommitted EC votes out there is just plain foolish on the part of the MSM.
