I took the day off just to be able to go mid-morning when the crowds had thinned down a little.
Crowds? HAH!
This town of not quite 14K hasn't seen a crowd since 1868 when two trains collided.
It was no more than 5 minutes. Present ID, they checked their "book", found everything in order, gave me a ballot and a Sharpie, and I filled in the little ovals.
We don't need no stinkin' hangin' chads here in mid-Missouri.
I had done my homework and had my list with most - but not all - of my selections indicated on it. A couple of weird ones - the county sheriff ran opposed, as did the county tax assessor.
Somebody PLEASE tell me why the ******* CORONER has to be an elected official! Jeezus! What does this guy do, anyway, besides sign off on death certificates? He doesn't operate on cadavers because that's the medical examiner's job.
Anyway, there were two choices for that job.
Among my list of selections included several Democrats and a candidate from the Constitution Party.
I don't recall selecting anybody from the Green Party. Nope. No way.
