Feds disrupt skinhead plot to assassinate Obama

WASHINGTON – Federal agents have broken up a plot by two neo-Nazi skinheads to assassinate Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama and shoot or decapitate 102 black people, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco Firearms and Explosives said Monday.

In court records unsealed Monday, federal agents said they disrupted plans to rob a gun store and target a predominantly African-American high school in a murder spree that was to begin in Tennessee. Agents said the skinheads did not identify the school by name.

Jim Cavanaugh, special agent in charge of ATF's Nashville field office, said the two men planned to shoot 88 black people and decapitate another 14. The numbers 88 and 14 are symbolic in the white supremacist community.

The men, Daniel Cowart, 20, of Bells, Tenn., and Paul Schlesselman 18, of West Helena, Ark., are being held without bond. Agents seized a rifle, a sawed-off shotgun and three pistols from the men when they were arrested.

A) Using the word "planning" with reference to what these two were up to seems just a bit inflated, don't you think?  I find it highly unlikely they had actionable intelligence on the whereabouts of teh Obamessiah at any kind of specific timeframe.  

B) Any credible threat to a presidential candidate's safety would realize fairly early, that if one of the conditions for success of a purported assassination "plan" is the step: "Rob the gun store/National Guard Armory/SuperFriends Fortress of Solitude", the plan is doomed from the outset.

C) Finally, given what I've personally seen this election season (I live in Colorado, and have seen teh BarackStar! pass through my beloved state twice, and Sarah Palin (mmmmmmmmmm) once) with the Secret Service closing MAJOR HIGHWAYS and city streets alike when their political charge comes through on a campaign stop, what chance did they have of getting within TWO MILES of teh Anointed One, even if they DID have foreknowledge of where he was going to be and when?  Three words Bridget: NOT BLOODY LIKELY.

This article reeks of the hyper attention the media made of the two meth heads from Kansas; you know, the ones who hopped in their pick-up truck with the deer rifle sighted in to 750 yards   to take their shot at Obama during the convention.  There was no threat to the Obamessiah's safety then, and there is no threat to the Obamessiah's safety now.

I just found the "you tube" video where he said to get into their face. He was suggesting to pretty much argue with your neighbors. Poor choice of words, and I'll go as far as saying it's a bad tactic to get conversion. Probably counter productive. Is that the same as suggesting that one use mace on another person? No.
