Anything Country

 :bird: :mental:

I hate the sappy, stupid stuff like my hound dog got hit by a train when he jumped out of the back of my pickup truck on the way to my lover's trailer.  I also hate the crooning voices....YECH!!! :bigbird:  :-)

Awww, look, bringing out the usual stereotypes.  Now isn't that cute?  :mental:

I can accept the excuse in regards to pop country (Carrie Underwood needs to go back to Oklahoma....  she can sing, but country is not what she is... :hammer:  Frickin PETA skank that she is.  )

But for folks like George Strait, George Jones,  Johnny Cash, Patsy Cline... you anti-country folks have no clue, since all you base your arguments on are STEREOTYPES (It's all that pop country crap that's to blame, in my opinion.  The artists in that silly subgenre play up the stereotypes themselves, and thus, are destroying what used to be a great genre).

OK, I'll grant the fact that I'm mostly referring to contemporary country music; I've always liked Cash and Cline (the way the emotions showed through her voice in most songs was just perfect). But both of those weren't strictly country, either.

Yeah, I know they weren't, but for me, the classics will always be better than the current music.  And that argument tends to hold up among all other genres of music as well.     There's just too much editing going on with today's music, and it bothers me.  Leave the heavy editing to techno. LOL

I hate country...always have and always will.  To me it is stupid, sappy, and the music just plain sucks.  The old and the new.  Just because someone has different tastes in music than you do, does not make them retarded or mentally deficient.  I dislike the old Conway Twitty type and the new hybrid rock stuff.  To each their own.

Okay,I'm done here.   Apparently some people are reading way too much into things ( I did NOT even infer that you were retarded, so quit trying to make it look like I did. ).   It just frustrates me when I see all these stereotypes being thrown about.

:rotf:   I'll say the same for rap/hiphop.  I am annoyed by people who keep buying Kanye West's albums, and at the same time, denounce his ego that they are feeding by purchasing his albums.    Hypocrites.

If I hear any of his songs, I just want to shoot something.

This is about music. cRap is just syncopated speaking.  NOT music by any possible definition.  And it all distills down to "kill whitey."

Don't be including me in that "you".  I have a lot of respect for the great country artist.  Patsy Cline was incredible.  90% of the singers in the world would sell their souls to the devil to have her graceful pipes.
Don't forget who wrote many of her hit songs...

TRAIN IN VAIN!?!??!??!?!!  That is my favorite song ever.  The Clash didn't have any bad songs.  This is treason, terrorism, and jaundice all rolled up in one!!! :bawl:  How could  you!?!?!  I am seriously considering calling the FBI tip line because I now think you may be a part of some weirdo sleeper cell!!!!!!!!!! :hammer:

Oh and I like Tom Petty too. :-)

Unfortunately, a majority of my peers think it's music (only because people in that "genre" use sample music from REAL musicians to back up their cRap).  :mental:

Yeah, I gotta agree with free, folks...it is just music. It's fun to chide one another playfully, but there is no reason for it to starting heading in the fight club direction.

I'll make it even worse for myself...I had that "Choose Life" shirt he has on too. I think I even have a picture somewhere--it involves that shirt, numerous jellies on my wrist, and neon bright colors in my hair--oh I think I even had on a lace glove too.  :o :loser:

If you remember this one, it dates you.

"Patches"  (don't remember who did it; one hit wonder)

Me and my buddies did an entire set of "alternate" lyrics for it and got detention when we sang it in a study hall in my sophomore year.

American Pie.....when I was a sophmore in college a hunnerd years ago....drove to upstate NY from Northern Illinois Un....about 14 hours or so....that song came on the radio every other song! And all the way back a week later it was still on continually....

We sooooo hated it by the time we got back to school. It still makes me clench my teeth when I hear it... :banghead:
Just hand over the chocolate...back away slowly...far away....and you won't get hurt....

Save the Earth... it's the only planet with chocolate.

Did anyone mention Sugar, Sugar by the Archies yet?

I listened to a DJ stop the stupid record in mid-song and smash it in disgust on a local AM station.  It was playing every 30 minutes in the station's rotation and the poor guy just kinda flipped out!

"Longer" by Dan Fogelberg
"The American people will never knowingly adopt socialism, but under the name of liberalism they will adopt every fragment of the socialist program until one day America will be a socialist nation without ever knowing how it happened."
