Friday Night! Whatcha' doin'?
« on: October 03, 2008, 06:04:50 PM »
I have NO plans this weekend so I'm going to hole up inside my apartment and get some laundry and chores done, catch up on some reading and sleep, watch a movie....basically, just have some ME time. No family events or parties to attend....I'm free, baby!

Right now, besides reading the forums, of course, I'm working on re-arranging and decluttering my workspace. There is actually a group of people who post pictures of their clean, uncluttered workspaces on flikr and it has inspired me to get my space in tip-top shape. So that's what I'll be doing this evening.

So what is everyone else doing tonight?  :cheersmate:

you are officially the friday night thread (unless Schad posts one of her specialties  :-))

having a beer, and quite relieved that the dodgers aren't playing tonight.  you have never seen a more stressed out person with a 5 run lead in your life. :-)

What he said :couch:

I have to work tomorrow, so my festivities are sorta limited.  I'd like to do some work on the bike tonight but it probably won't happen.  Need to swap out the new hangers with the old ones so they'll fit.

I'll be here in and out as I'm working hard to declutter my workspace. Funny, I don't remember a tornado blowing through here recently. I must have slept through it.

I could never compete with one of Schad's threads. I'll understand if you callously dismiss me for her. I'm used to it. ;)  :-)

WE, my pessimistic friend. Do not fret over your Dodgers! They are on their way to the same fate as my Diamondbacks last postseason.  Sweep the Cubs, then get swept. :evillaugh:

my friday threads can't compete with her friday threads. :-)

and I am not being pessimistic, I am being realistic.  anything can happen in the playoffs.  a fan of a team that is in the playoffs and isn't at least a little bit afraid of what may happen next simply doesn't understand the process. :-)

Wha'dya get?

I picked up another Digiorno earlier this week.  They're okay, but it's too tempting to eat the entire thing.  :(

Who doesn't like pizza?  :yum:

I'm using up the last of my bbq chicken.  A couple of stuffed baked potatos sound pretty good right now.

Kicking back with a Kalik Light in FreePort, Bahamas.

Having been in Jamaica not that long ago, I'll repeat what I saw on a T-Shirt:

"Same Shit
Different Island"

I am pretty well done with the Caribbean.  I can get all the same stuff (beaches, etc.) without paying the outlandish prices and without getting the bad attitude.
If you want to worship an orange pile of garbage with a reckless disregard for everything, get on down to Arbys & try our loaded curly fries.

Quote
When the Bulldawgs meet the Temple Wildcats at 7:30 p.m. Friday at Wildcat Stadium, it will certainly be a big game. But for different reasons than originally thought.

Temple (0-4, 0-1) is still looking for its first win of the season. Picked by many experts to win the district, the Wildcats need to get back on track in a hurry.

They’ll have their work cut out for them in what could be considered a do-or-die game.

“You have to play every week,” Dawgs coach Jack Welch said. “Everybody’s goal is to get to the playoffs and peak at the end of the year.”

State-ranked Copperas Cove, which cracked the Associated Press poll this week after rolling through their first four games, want to continue their success and put separation between themselves and the rest of District 12-5A. If the Dawgs can get through Temple, they’ll be in good shape.

Cove (4-0, 1-0) has demolished their opponents by an average of 37.5 points. The offense has been clicking on all cylinders putting up 46 points a game

I'm listening to it on the net.

Copperas Cove Bulldawgs 56 - Temple Wildcats 14 . FINAL

It is said that branches draw their life from the vine. Each is separate yet all are one as they share one life giving stem . The Bible tells us we are called to a similar union in life, our lives with the life of God. We are incorporated into him; made sharers in his life. Apart from this union we can do nothing.

I've been packing and getting everything ready for us being gone for a week.  Have to head to the airport at 0330 in the morning.

holy crap, dude.  who takes a 3:30 flight?  I always arrange my travel itinerary based on what I think that I may be doing the night before.

You realize a 9:00 AM flight from LAX for example, with one stop, will get to the East Coast after 9:00 PM? After luggage claim, transport and etc. you will be lucky to be at your destination by 11:00 PM and asleep by Midnight.  So leaving the day before doesn't accomplish much of anything.  And most people have to leave 2 to 3 hours, so that 9:00 AM flight starts your day at 6:00 AM.  It is an all day sucker whether you leave at 3:30 or 6:00
