you are officially the friday night thread (unless Schad posts one of her specialties  :-))

having a beer, and quite relieved that the dodgers aren't playing tonight.  you have never seen a more stressed out person with a 5 run lead in your life. :-)

I could never compete with one of Schad's threads. I'll understand if you callously dismiss me for her. I'm used to it. ;)  :-)

WE, my pessimistic friend. Do not fret over your Dodgers! They are on their way to the same fate as my Diamondbacks last postseason.  Sweep the Cubs, then get swept. :evillaugh:

You are doing just fine..... however, a kick to WE's nuts would be most entertaining to me.  :evillaugh:

only in Sarah Palin worthy spike heels, if you please. :-)

After Schade's kick to WE's nuts and WE's wish for it to be in red Sarah Palin spike heels, my comment is going to be soooo boring. Just sitting here waiting for the antibiotics and cough expectorant to kick in. It's been that kind of an evening, sigh.

I felt too rotten to go to the gym and totally vegging out. I'm drinking water and SR just fixed himself a rum drink.

Tomorrow debating whether or not to go to the taping of the Purina challenge at Purina Farms on the outskirts of STL. They'll be doing the agility runs, water diving dogs, and fly ball stuff. Last year they had Cindy, the high jumping, world champion greyhound.

I hope you feel better soon! I think I read elsewhere that you saw Palin last night, how cool was that?

And just to clarify: I wanted Jen (not moi) to kick WE in the nuts with Sarah's shoes.

I have NO plans this weekend so I'm going to hole up inside my apartment and get some laundry and chores done, catch up on some reading and sleep, watch a movie....basically, just have some ME time. No family events or parties to attend....I'm free, baby!

Right now, besides reading the forums, of course, I'm working on re-arranging and decluttering my workspace. There is actually a group of people who post pictures of their clean, uncluttered workspaces on flikr and it has inspired me to get my space in tip-top shape. So that's what I'll be doing this evening.

So what is everyone else doing tonight?  :cheersmate:

Kicking back with a Kalik Light in FreePort, Bahamas.

Having been in Jamaica not that long ago, I'll repeat what I saw on a T-Shirt:

"Same Shit
Different Island"

I am pretty well done with the Caribbean.  I can get all the same stuff (beaches, etc.) without paying the outlandish prices and without getting the bad attitude.

What hotel you staying at??? I've only been to Freeport once. Stayed at a place near a yacht club and it had a lighthouse, can't remember the name.

Kalik is a decent beer but I liked the Pusser's Rum better.  :-)

Taino Beach -- almost none of the rooms have a view, but the beach is OK.  I am pretty much a beer drinker, and at least Kalik is decent -- a Bud costs $2.50-$3.00 a can -- in case quantities! -- so I settled for the local stuff, only $45 a case.

Went to Oktoberfest with a friend for a few hours after work.  Now I'm at home drinking a beer.

I've been to Oktoberfest a couple times. I can even remember being there one time. :cheersmate: That was the time we bypassed the Stuttgardt fest on the way to Munich.

It is said that branches draw their life from the vine. Each is separate yet all are one as they share one life giving stem . The Bible tells us we are called to a similar union in life, our lives with the life of God. We are incorporated into him; made sharers in his life. Apart from this union we can do nothing.

Well, I just moved my whole desk and computer set-up. When I pulled the desk out, the dust bunnies attacked. All the cords looked like cobwebs. It took me about an hour to get them sorted and organized. But I feel so much better now! Except that I'm kind of dirty and need a shower.

Wait, that probably wasn't a good thing to mention in a Friday night thread.  :-)

SLW, I hope you feel better soon!  :-*

I hate to admit it, but I don't care for bratwurst or sourkraut.  I remember my mom forcing me to eat some nasty sourkraut when I was a kid.  It was the only time she ever said "eat this or you'll go to bed hungry."  I was never a picky eater, but I swear I think that stuff was out of a can.  *shiver*

I did enjoy some delicious Sam Adams Oktoberfest while there.  And they have a lot of craft booths and I bought this neat little necklace.  It was from a booth that sells hand blown glass pieces and if a vase breaks they mold the splinters into necklace pendants.

Home from work, but will be at it again 9-5 tomorrow (if my coworker who was in a car accident this afternoon---rear-ended--- comes to work at all tomorrow as the closer.  Otherwise, I'll be closing.  :bawl: ).

If I get my normal shift, I'll be heading straight for the movie theatre afterwards to see "An American Carol" with a group of College and Young Republicans.  I need to build up my connections and friendships with other "Rethuglikkkan" (  :p  ) organizations, so this will be a great opportunity.   :cheersmate:

I have class tomorrow.   :bawl:  Well, it's good in a way.  We're supposed to have a lab for my dealership class, and it's usually Monday nights.  But this term the usual teacher is on leave, so they had to fly in the teacher from the Michigan campus.  So instead of 10 Monday meetings, we're cramming everything into two weekends.  I had the first session today, one tomorrow, then in two weeks on that Saturday I'm there all day to finish up.  I'm just glad they're on Saturday, because if it was Friday I was going to have to use a vacation day at work to cover my hours.

I have an extra beer over here ACC, but I don't think the drive will be worth it.  :)

Weekend classes?  WTH?  There should be no such thing as weekend classes.  I can deal with evening classes, but not weekend courses.

The lab was only today for an hour and a half and a couple of hours tomorrow, but then all day that next Saturday in two weeks.

The good thing is that we're learning the Reynolds & Reynolds dealer system and that's what I use every day at work.  Today we went over logging in and out, and some other basic commands and email.  :)  I got this down pat!

Had dinner tonight with our friends and their son (he's 21) and one of his buddies showed up. Saw a several people we hadn't seen in a while.

2 lovely martinis, salad, steak au poivre w/ sauteed garlic spinach and chocolate waffle with vanilla and chocolate ice cream, whip cream and fudge sauce. 5 of us ate the dessert and we still left quite a bit in the bowl. It comes out in a big spaghetti bowl.

Going to read a bit of "Protect and Defend" by Vince Flynn.

Tomorrow, friend M and I are doing a little retail therapy at the Dollar Tree in OR, coming home and doing some stuff then the four of us are meeting at the local sports pub to watch UT get their collective asses beat by my alma mater - Northern Illinois University. How sad is that?! :loser: Rumor has it, if the UT coach doesn't win the rest of the season, he's out. Hope he's started to pack, cause he doesn't have a chance of beating So Carolina, Alabama, maybe Vandy or KY. I'm thinking Wyoming is his only chance at a "W".
Just hand over the chocolate...back away slowly...far away....and you won't get hurt....

Save the Earth... it's the only planet with chocolate.

"My therapist told me the way to achieve true inner peace is to finish what I start. So far I've finished two bags of M&M's and a chocolate cake. I feel better already." – Dave Barry

A balanced diet is chocolate in both hands.
