A Border Patrol-involved-shooting occurred in Minneapolis on Saturday morning.

The shooting occurred as numerous agents struggled with an individual on the ground. Bystander video shows the agents wrestling with the subject before numerous shots are heard and the subject collapses.

Law enforcement sources have revealed that the suspect was allegedly armed at the time of the incident.

The subject has reportedly died. The individual received medical treatment at the scene and then was taken to the hospital. No further information about the subject has been released at this time.

A bit of an update with more details:

A tense scene is unfolding in Minneapolis this hour as a large mob is gathered at the scene of an alleged shooting involving U.S. Border Patrol.

It is being reported that U.S. Border Patrol agents shot an armed assailant who has reportedly died at the hospital. DHS officials reported that a firearm and loaded magazines were recovered, but further details of the events that led to the shooting are unknown at this time.

No local police have been seen, as state police and federal agents struggle to secure the scene of the shooting. Arrests have been made, and crowd control measures have been deployed as the mob of protesters has grown larger and more aggressive since the shooting occurred. State Police have declared the mob gathered in the area as an unlawful assembly as protesters throw rocks, water bottles, and other objects at federal agents.

Rhetoric matters, and the initial response from Minnesota's lame-duck governor has done more to fan the flames than to ease tensions.

The Department of Homeland Security says officers were trying to arrest a illegal alien wanted for violent assault when a protester approached with a handgun and violently resisted disarming.

The BP Union stated emphatically on X, “Border Patrol agents are trained extremely well to protect themselves, their fellow agents, and innocent third parties. When a supposed ‘peaceful’ protester brings a weapon (such as a loaded handgun) and brandishes it, there are going to severe consequences and repercussions.”

1. A Q for those who carry, when out in public, do you ordinarily carry loaded spare magazines? It's not illegal, but it seems a sign of Alex Pretti's intention that he did. Maybe I'm reading too much into his choice out of lack of knowledge?

2. I have not knowingly gone out of my house/apartment without, at least, my driver's license since I was 16 or 17. Am I weird, or was this another indicator of Alex Pretti's intent to mix it up with officers enforcing immigration law?

Speaking of lies-by-omission, has any video been released yet that captures things said by the CBP officers? I do not think they were silent or soft-spoken from when "protesters" got into their faces through the shots being fired. What Massey conveniently leaves out is what Pretti was doing there in the first place. He showed up at an active federal law enforcement operation carrying a loaded weapon and extra ammunition. Video footage shows Border Patrol agents attempting to disarm him before the fatal shooting.

After all, Minnesota Democrats are totally on the side of the criminal illegal aliens and rioters, and local police refuse to back up the feds. Speaking to insidious CBS News propagandist Margaret Brennan — the woman who claimed free speech caused the Holocaust — O’Hara falsely claimed that the protester had a First Amendment right to record and challenge Border Patrol (actually, what the protester did is against federal law).

Recording without interfering is legal; the "challenging", interfering with the CBP officers is where Alex Petti violated Federal law.

O’Hara then insanely pontificated, “And I think the greater issue is, even if there is an investigation that ultimately proves that at the time of the shooting it was legally justified, I don’t think that even matters at this point, because there just — there is so much outrage and concern around what is happening in the city.…People have had enough!”

It doesn’t matter? Of course it does. It matters precisely because all those rioting on behalf of the dead protester and the criminal illegal alien for whose sake he got himself killed are in the wrong. It matters because the dead protester was committing a felony (e.g., 18 U.S. Code § 111) when he tried to interfere in a federal operation and because he was armed with two full magazines of ammunition and not carrying the legally required ID.

MPD officers need the Feds to give them a serious warning: you interfere with or aid those who intefere at the risk of prison or worse. Their Chief is setting them up for serious consequences for his personal political views.
