Brian O’Hara made the remark after telling reporters that "no evidence ever be able to make sense" of the mass shooting that left two children dead and 18 others injured Wednesday. However, he said, the Minneapolis Police Department "will do our best to determine and identify a specific motive."
"What we have seen so far is this is an individual who, unfortunately, like so many other mass shooters that we have seen in this country too often and around the world, had some deranged fascination with previous mass shootings and very disturbing writings that demonstrate hatred towards many different individuals and different groups of people," O’Hara said. "And he fantasized about the plans of other mass shooters."
Authorities in Minneapolis are half-truthing. Yes, Westman was fascinated with school shooters and even named Adam Lanza as his favorite. But these "authorities" barely mention the herd of pachyderms in the domicile:
* Westman loathed what he had made himself;
* Westman hated untormented normal people;
* Westman hated conservative people generally and President Trump especially;
* Westman hated Christians generally and Catholics particularly. Assumption was not a random Catholic church. His mother had worked for that church, and Westman had attended its school;
* Relative to his hatred of Catholics, Westman used his knowledge of the school's layout and its habitual events to map out his plan and choose a time when he knew pretty much all students would be in the church nave. The students, elementary age children, were his chosen targets.
He wanted the notoriety of being a school shooter,
but his targets - with his rantings and with his bullets - reveal his driving motivations. As I posted in the DUmpster, I do not say such things lightly or easily, but I think demon possession or oppression was happening with Westman. The virulency and specificity of his hatred and attention to detail in his planning is strongly suggestive of this.
BTW, note the usage of "them" and the pronoun "he".
