Terrified they'll take my ssdi

Worked 36 yrs. Took 14 mos and a lawyer to get it. My shrink is retiring and I'll need a new one to get my meds. I cannot take this worry.

Another liberal suckling at the milky teat of the government

Had to fight to get paid to be a lunatic. Remember, folks: these are the self-appointed vanguard of society, who know what's best for everyone, everywhere.

Assholes.

Maybe some less ignorant and stupid DU-Denizen should risk getting pizzaed by asking XanaDUer2 had their SSDI "taken" during Trump's first term?

There are people who receive SSDI due to actual disability after their years or decades of work. That it took "14 mos and a lawyer to get it" to me means XanaDUer2's case for SSDI was worse than marginal. "My shrink is retiring and I'll need a new one to get my meds," ummm, reinforces my opinion.

SSDI taken not by those that need it but by lazy asshole DUchebags is one of the big reasons Social Security is going broke.

SO **** YOU XANADUER WITH A BARBWIRE WRAPPED HABANERO SAUCE COATED PINEAPPLE.... SIDEWAYS.
When you are the beneficiary of someone’s kindness and generosity, it produces a sense of gratitude and community.

When you are the beneficiary of a policy that steals from someone and gives it to you in return for your vote, it produces a sense of entitlement and dependency.

I've been working cripple for about 5 years now so I don't have much sympathy for the DUmmie.

Apparently mental issues are the go-to for SSDI claims now. A few years back, I did some work for an older lady who had had a massive heart attack and, afterward, a quadruple bypass. She said that she wasn't the same afterwards. She tried to get SSDI and was denied so she hired an attorney. The attorney told her that he could get her on SSDI easily if she would say that she had mental issues. It irked her and she told the lawyer that she didn't really have mental issues. What she really had was heart issues. I don't know how things finally worked out for her, but she was pretty adamant that she wasn't going to lie about nonexistent mental issues when she had a genuine issue.

Probably ended the same way as it did for my own mother. She had a bad heart attack and wasn't allowed to work anymore. She was denied disability as well so mom and dad had to just somehow squeeze by for about 12 years until she could finally get SS at retirement age.
It plowed through their savings and stuff, pretty much broke them due to the lost income. Hard times because I slid a lot of money to mom under the table for quite a few years, hiding it from dad because he'd have a sh*tfit if he found out about mom accepting money. Of course, mom has always been the budget person and dad is completely oblivious regarding their financial state at any given time.
She got robbed by government all of her life and then when she needed them, they turned their back on her.

I hate that they had to go through that, but based on what I've heard from other folks through the years, it doesn't surprise me.

It always seems to be the individuals who have worked and paid in all of their lives and have developed a real health issue who gets denied, but if someone like DUer DoorKnockerFace, who has never worked a full year consecutively, applies because it claims to have mental issues and can't work because people laugh at all 35 of its facial piercings, it is somehow quickly approved.
