OMG! Hilarious Apple Care call.
I called Apple Care. Long story short, the advisor needed to call me back in an hour. I confirm my phone number. She asks me what time zone I am in. I say "Maryland." She says "Oh, same time. I'm in Georgia."

I say "Please please please vote for Rafael Warnock." She tells me I am about the fifth person today to say the same kind of thing!

We laugh. She says "Don't worry. We're smart in Georgia."

More laughing.

Then I say "And don't forget Stacy Abrams. PLEASE don't forget Stacy Abrams!!"

"I gotcha covered!" she says.

And the entire call center was clapping in the background...
Can you imagine having to deal with people like this, so obsessed that they can't even call for tech support without making a political statement?
Imagine the eye-roll on the other end of the phone while she patronizes this idiot.

As an individual who has had the unfortunate circumstance, once upon a time, to work in a call center, I guaran-damn-tee it was more then an eye roll. Probably plenty of  :mental:, then putting the headset mic on mute, followed with  :rant: Finally ending with  :dn:

Me too, RuralNC.  I try not to think about those days.  I do know that everything is monitored, everything.  To remain anything but neutral in Stinky's little tale could get you in trouble.  The proper response to his pleading would be "Is there anything I can help you with today?"  There's a queue, no time for political small talk or banter.

Stinky needs to make a sock puppet to post a story about working at an Apple Care call center and telling dozens of callers they are in Georgia and how all of them told her how she needed to vote in her state elections.  Then they can miraculously connect on the DUmp, and cry on each other's shoulder (in a nice long thread) during the red wave come November.  Might add a notch of believability to such a ridonculous bouncy. 

I too have done call center work.  At best, if anything off topic comes up, just say "uh huh", nodding your head to make is sound believable, and redirect to the purpose of the call.
