I had a Hillary supporter already telling me that she couldn't vote for the Obamessiah, so I pointed her towards McCain. About a month ago, I mentioned the name "Sarah Palin" to her, but I told her that I felt that McCain wouldn't pick her. Only on Tuesday of last week (before the Dem convention) I mentioned Kay Baliey Hutchinson to her. Said Hillary supporter said that she liked both of them. Governor Palin especially piqued her interest. I was off from Wednesday through Friday of last week, so this past Monday, I asked her what she thought. She said that she really liked Governor Palin. Then came Wednesday night . . . Thursday morning, she thanked me for turning her on to Senator McCain and Governor Palin. She said that she was 99.9999% sure that she was going to vote for Senator McCain and Governor Palin before Governor Palin's speech. Now, she is 100% sure that she will vote for McCain and Palin--and she is 100% sure that she is doing the right thing.
Another person, this time a SG for the New York Army National Guard, told me Thursday morning that he wasn't sure that he could vote for Senator McCain, because of his policies. But, Governor Palin's speech cured that. Now, he told me, he was going to vote for Senator McCain, because of Governor Palin. I told him that he had made the right choice. He told me that he knew it, too.
