Not a single person can be found in the whole of the democrat party that has as much class as Cindy McClain.  Nowhere.

I think Cindy is a lot like Laura Bush.. quiet and perfectly comfortable doing what she does behind the scenes with no fanfare.

I also like that neither McCain or Palin are lawyers - that is a point that cannot be hammered enough.

Is it just me or is this speech (by itself) a big yawn?

I'm one of the "hold nose and vote for McCain" crowd but w/o Palin... is anyone excited by this speech???

I respect McCain. I like the guy well enough... but damn.

No, it's not just you. He has decent ideas but his delivery is about as exciting as cardboard.

Following Palin's speech last night has to be tough.

For a McCain speech this is really quite good - a little stilted, but for a man that hates the teleprompter not bad.

I just wish he would stop the toothy smile thing - It doesn't work for him.

It's OK

He is really establishing his Conservative bona-fides.

It is specific, it establishes his values, it realignes him with us.

He has never been a great speechifier, but I am enjoying it, because I know he is putting his heart out there.

True that.

And again, I'd have voted for this guy over Obama/Biden anyway but he seems to be just confirming all my worst fears tonight. I'd don't trust him on judges (gang of 14) w/o Palin. I don't trust him on education w/o Palin... etc etc...

He has Palin now and thank God for that but tonight just reaffirmed how little enthused I was before little more than a week ago.

A DUmmy will - s/he/it will find a small bit of minutiae that may be slightly off and proclaim the whole story a lie.

He's appealing to the fence sitters who haven't committed to Obama yet. "Let's reach across the aisle..," blah, blah, blah...

He's certainly not appealing to conservatives right now (or at least this conservative).

This story of his captiure is NOT on the teleprompter.

You can see it in his eyes -- and the eyes of his brothers in arms.
