I'm one of the "hold nose and vote for McCain" crowd but w/o Palin... is anyone excited by this speech???

No, it's not just you. He has decent ideas but his delivery is about as exciting as cardboard.

For a McCain speech this is really quite good - a little stilted, but for a man that hates the teleprompter not bad.

I just wish he would stop the toothy smile thing - It doesn't work for him.

It's OK

He is really establishing his Conservative bona-fides.

It is specific, it establishes his values, it realignes him with us.

He has never been a great speechifier, but I am enjoying it, because I know he is putting his heart out there.

And again, I'd have voted for this guy over Obama/Biden anyway but he seems to be just confirming all my worst fears tonight. I'd don't trust him on judges (gang of 14) w/o Palin. I don't trust him on education w/o Palin... etc etc...

He has Palin now and thank God for that but tonight just reaffirmed how little enthused I was before little more than a week ago.
