Idaho's cases-per-million-population is 17th worst in the US, by the numbers here,
https://www.worldometers.info/coronavirus/country/us/ . OTOH, only 8 states have lower deaths-per-million-population than Idaho. The context for these numbers, from the WashPost article, is:
Idaho Gov. Brad Little, a Republican, has never implemented a statewide mask requirement, though nearly a dozen areas of the state have local restrictions, including Boise.

8. Children have died of COVID you idiots and what terrible role models the parents are !
Probably evangelical church participants who deny science.
The WashPost article mentions state Representatives Dorothy Moon and Heather Scott. Both have degrees in the sciences. One has been a teacher. Neither, in W'pedia or in their campaign websites mention any religious upbringing or affiliation. Scott's campaign website states that she supports religious freedom and is Pro-Life, but without reference to any religion.
IRL, my Evangelical church has not had indoor services for a year, and a very few by-reservation (= limited numbers) outdoor services. I'm not aware of anyone in the church who denies or minimizes the reality and seriousness of Covid - I certainly do not - though with (pre-Covid) 2000-3000 weekly attendance at two campuses and 6 or 7 services, I don't know everyone. Kimberly needs to burn her stereotypes and actually get to know some mainstream Evangelicals. Were she to do so she'd find we are far more varied and complex than her cardboard cut-out stereotype.
