poll: what does one suppose.....

Of course it's too early (9:30 a.m. Wednesday) to know.

I'm guessing it's a supporter of the hoary old white-haired sourassed sourpuss crank from Vermont and his thieving wife.

Totally agree, this guy actually left the basement to mail some special delivery packages...

The NY Times labeled this guy as a pro-Trump, anti-gay marriage, Bible thumping religious fannatic.

Which means he's actually a radically left, pro-communist, HELLary supporting DUmmie...

He was "mainstream" conservative and had been posting FB blogs against gay marriage and abortion.

So far there's no clear indication (That has been released) that he was either a Prog or a Con.  The only thing unusual that has been released is his home-schooling background, which could just go back to his parents thinking the schools sucked, or he had adjustment problems and that was their solution, or they thought he was getting way-too-much/way-too-little religion.  I don't recall that they have said what his voter registration was, though it's probably out there, meaningless as that might be.

I have to go with 'Not sure,' but I'm leaning toward him just being looney tunes.

According to DU, he was a member of some Christian militia group the acronym of which is "RIOT." I haven't been interested enough to look into whether such a group actually exists.

From what I've read, his upbringing was in a charismatic Evangelical church and he was homeschooled. He expressed some views that are consistent with that upbringing that would be considered conservative; his opposition to sex offender lists would be controversial in either context. Six years ago in JC he said that he was conservative, but did not know enough of history to support those views; he did not graduate from the JC.

DU-grade Progs would neither recognize nor admit it, but there is a HUGE chasm between how he was raised and what he did the past several months. So there's a huge open, "How did he get from there to here?" question. My guess, based on very very little, is that he fell into the schizophrenia that seems to overtake some - a very few, but enough that a pattern has been noticed - very intelligent people in their mid 20s.

Mary Ann, I searched "texas riot militia" and "christian militia riot" using both DDG and Google, on their respective "Web" and "News" tabs, and came up totally empty. I might believe Google tampering with the results for  search phrases containing the word "militia", but not Duck Duck Go, too. Sounds like some DU member made @#$% up or someone is trolling Progs at a level that Google and DDG haven't found.

Austin bomber Mark Anthony Conditt was part of Christian survivalist group that discussed 'dangerous' chemicals

The Austin bomber was involved in a teenage Christian “survivalist” group that discussed weapons and dangerous chemicals, according to a childhood friend.

Mark Anthony Conditt reportedly took part in a conservative outdoors club called Righteous Invasion of Truth (RIOT), in which home-schooled young people studied the Bible and were taught gun skills.

Well, I just did a search on Righteous Invasion of Truth, and found out it's a Christian music album or music video or something. In other words, this is total BS that leftists pulled out of thin air to make it sound like the Christian version of ISIS. Wow.

Looking over the UK paper's article it looks like a strictly local student-organized club, so they probably had zero Internet presence. From the article, it sounds like the students' interests were guns, chemistry, and Bible study - all weird and sinister to DU ignorami, but obviously pretty innocuous, given the fact that Conditt was the only one who became violent, and that only after a lapse of 5 or more years. BTW, the homeschooling community is pretty "diverse", so there's a substantial chance that this club was ethnically "diverse".

I se that the leadership staff at the church he attended is majority white, but there are some ethnic minorities on staff. The same is true of the elders, some of whom are also staff.

DU-folk desperately need a white right-wing Fundie gun-nut to be a mass killer, to support their narrative that all such people are dangerous crazies. Conditt is the closest they've come, but there's up to 5 years gap between Conditt leaving his parents' home and continual influence and his bombings. Being more recent - playing a DU-style conclusion jumping game - maybe the authorities should be looking at his classes, professors, and friends at the JC. More seriously the question really is what happened in Conditt's head between graduating from high school and his first bombing.

Things are only coincidentally what they call themselves these days, it would be foolish to rely on the name of an organization to peg it.

He sounded like antifa. A number of them trained with terrorists during the world trade thing a few years back.
But because he once went to church as a kid, the media will forever label him a "Christian Terrorist."

From this article it sounds like:

* Conditt just never believed what he was taught in his upbringing and never much cared about other people's lives;

* Opportunity, not race, was how he selected his victims;

* The officers who succeeded in stopping Conditt may have unknowingly preempted a suicide bombing in a (possibly) crowded McDonalds.
