When Skins was provided the means by which to acquire the island in early 2001, no doubt it was born of misplaced anger and a sense of lost entitlement. But I have yet to conclude he truly knew exactly what kind of "Democrats" the site would attract, and would have to say it certainly wasn't what he expected. He has to be hugely disappointed and it seems he now only sees it as a cash cow. So in his own way, just like the big name Dems with which he was hoping the site would permit him to rub shoulders, Skins has learned to use the members of DU for the only thing they serve any purpose in life, and that is taking what little money they have to use for his pleasure.
Damn, you're good, sir.
I myself have no doubt my fellow alum Skins never knew what he was getting into.
You might recall that my fellow alum Skins, after working for Senators Biden (D-Delaware) and Levin (D-Michigan) (or perhaps it was his brother the congressman), ended up working for Congressman David Bonoir (D-Michigan), who ran for the Democrat nomination for governor of Michigan in 2000, and lost.
Skins was left high-and-dry, without a job.
However, since my fellow alum obviously had (has) talent in this area, some "connections" inside the Democrat Leadership Council established and financed Skins's island, for him to run. Skins is a good man to have in politics, and the DLC wanted to keep him in politics.
I'm sure my fellow alum had no idea, absolutely no idea, what he was getting into.
Well, he got into it, and being the Democrat party stalwart he is, has stuck with Skins's island, although he really doesn't seem to enjoy it. In fact, there's never been any evidence my fellow alum, or Lord Marblehead EarlG, or the elusive enimatic one Elad, has ever even rubbed shoulders with any primitives in real life.
Hell, they never even met the red round one of voter-fraud fame, and I've never seen any indication they've even seen the Bostonian Drunkard in the flesh, much less less-prominent primitives.
Since he really doesn't like the job, but has to stick with it, one can hardly blame my fellow alum for getting all that he can get out of it, and the primitives. I've always been of the opinion that Skins really deserves at least ten times the cash the primitive give him, they're such a nuisance.
