I am PTSD disabled ...
I am in my late forties ...
OK, did this dude serve in the Gulf War, when he was in his 20s, or is he "appropriating" and trivializing a term that means serious issues stemming serious service? I've had bad experiences in life that have molded my personality and social interactions in not good ways, but to a great degree, that's just part of being human.
Unless the guy served in the Gulf War (or similar military service), I think this characterizes the guy's "disability":
"fear of the unknown". He got into some sort of rough patch, and just never climbed back out of it. And now he's paralyzed by fear of looking for and working at a job, finding a home (away from his familiar abusive and parasitic mother), paying bills, and interacting with other human being as an independent peer.
gitm is a real
winner! He's taken what should be desperation-station survival and made it a lifestyle of contributing all but nothing while living off of people and society and off their kindness. I've seen quasi-homeless people use the gym for showers and restroom facilities (at least one such guy was very "in-shape", just not working but a frequent user of recreational chemicals), and I've seen the
somebody's-living-there RVs, vans, and cars parked at the periphery of shopping center parking lots, even in the daytime.
