Mitt Romney to deliver "major speech" on 2016 race tomorrow
« on: March 02, 2016, 05:08:36 PM »
http://hotair.com/archives/2016/03/02/oh-my-mitt-romney-to-deliver-major-speech-on-2016-race-tomorrow/

So no endorsement tomorrow and no independent run — yet. This does, however, look an awful lot like Romney putting himself back on the radar of #NeverTrump conservative voters at the very moment that they’re starting to look around for an “in case of emergency, break glass” candidate. I think that’s the theme he’ll pursue tomorrow: Never Trump. He’s going to say that Trump is unfit for the GOP nomination for a hundred different reasons, from his temperament to his leftish policies to his proclivity for scams like Trump University to his dodging when asked about David Duke in that interview with Tapper. In order to make it clear that he’s not trying to bigfoot the primary candidates and discourage Republicans from turning out to vote over the next two weeks, he may also make a point of saying that Rubio, Kasich, and even Ted Cruz would all be fine and acceptable choices for the nomination. The takeaway, though, will be that conservative voters must have a principled choice available to them in the general election. They can’t be forced to decide between two liberals from New York. He won’t say who that choice will be or that he has any plans to run; it’ll be a pure “conscience of a conservative” speech denouncing Trump. But I think it’ll also be clear afterward that if Rubio can’t close the deal in Florida on March 15th, you may be hearing from Romney again. And the next speech will be a little more concrete than this one.

After the Arizona primary, assuming Trump is even still running as a Republican, I am OUT of this sham of a political organization.  In my nearly 40 years of watching election cycles I have never seen such a vast, arrayed movement against a front runner, so clearly against the will of the plurality thus far of those years, including the Reagan candidacy.  But then, no other candidate that has ever run has been totally independent of donor contributions and thus not beholden to anyone but his voters!  Ever.

I have seen all the anti-Trump attacks launched by those who believe that repeating lies will convince me, and other supporters, that their candidate is pure and worthy of the conservative mantle.  I expect mostly grief from anyone answering this, if they bother, but fair warning, Trump support reaches across this nation and we will not be halted by Romney, the failed candidate who was so frikkin' nasty to his primary opponents and then folded like a wet napkin against Obama in the general election campaign.  And for someone who is supposed to be a Christian, Cruz demonstrated a vicious and petty streak in last night's "victory" declamation that would've made me turn against him if I hadn't pegged him as a phony from day one.

Yeah, I know, I worship at the altar of Trump, am on my knees to him :mental: and am an emotional, unrational non-conservative traitor who should be supporting the almighty Ted, whose path to victory in the general election is so guaranteed should he garner the nomination.  Much as Mittens should've wiped the floor with Obama, until he didn't.

I'm with my candidate and I must say the level, not just of non-support, but of outright hatred for the registered primary voters' first choice within the Establishment has been breathtaking in scope and extremely disgusting.  Why in the world would the RNC, Romney, and their ilk expect little old me, whose opinion only counts enough to be told how to vote, to bow down and accept their judgement of what is best for the party and the country?  Those assholes gave us McCain and then Romney.  Now Romney is attempting to position himself as the alternative to Trump, assuming all the attack dog ads do their intended job and derail his candidacy.  Wonder how well HIS failed bid four years ago would have proceeded had he had the entire establishment pukes of both parties after his ass?  He'd be curled in a corner crying, yet now he's going to try to play statesman?  **** him, the establishment and all those who support this chicanery.
Mods, feel free to ban me at this point as that's what some of your members would like anyway, those who crow about driving away the Paulbots.
Over and done.

Oh my, look at me farewell rant.

Support whoever you want to. As for Trump running third party, just remember that he cannot be on the Ohio ballot.

As for crowing about driving away the paulbots, maybe learn the history and the reason this website was established.

Again, support whoever and expect people to disagree regardless of their candidate.  This is a discussion board, not a echo chamber.

I haven't posted here in years....but Boudicca...there are more of us than you think. By "us" I mean Trump supporters.  I support Donald Trump too and the vitriol directed against those of us who support him is astounding.  The vitriol against Donald Trump himself is even worse.
But here we are...we'll collect more states and take it all the way to November.  Most of us are getting sick and tired of constantly defending our position...I for one am...but it is what it is and we'll see how far he can get without the help of the RNC.

Thank you, HawkGirl, I just about left here cuz all I got was negativity or so it seemed from Cruz supporters.  For a few of those folks, unpleasant people, I reaped tons of let's just say less than even keeled feedback.
I don't know how Donald Trump keeps fighting, Lord knows he doesn't need this shit.  He's been the front runner since June, and ever since then he's been treated with the utmost disdain, contempt and condescension I've ever remarked upon in the 40 years since I began being aware of primaries.  Whoever heard of arraying such a vast consortium of braying jackass pundits and self-important journalists and talk show hosts against the front runner of their OWN PARTY?  Mittens was less conservative than Donald, yet somehow we're supposed to trust HIM now to not vote for Trump when he was such a choker he couldn't even best Obama over Benghazi in the third debate!!

I have no idea where the sheer audacity of these cretins originates, but if Trump wins the popular primary vote IN SPITE OF their hateful combined and concerted efforts to eviscerate him, I can't speak for other Donald "worshippers" :rotf: :rotf: BUT I'll crawl over broken glass to vote for him come November.  The hell with being told what to believe and to trust in some dumbshit loser who managed to lose the easiest possible general election, to Obama the loathsome.  But almost as loathsome is this weak ass sister coming along with his teleprompter :thatsright: to lecture us on why we should not vote for Trump.

Disloyal (all happy as shit to get Donald's money and endorsement four years ago), weak on everything, and less of a conservative than Donald.  Yet somehow he and equally ineffective McCain were the candidates our oh so retarded GOP leaders implored us idiots to vote for and then, surprise, Mitt especially was so vicious during the primary and conversely feebly ineffective and anemic during the contest with Obama.

One wonders at the agenda of the Mittster's then-donors?

As am I....I've been a loyal supporter since his announcement, way before he started winning...which as you said, he has been since the beginning.

I'm pretty much over getting into the verbal scathing with Cruz and Rubio supporters as just last night, on the FB page, there is a someone who will remain nameless that still ardently believes in a Rubio victory.  How do you continue a dialogue with someone like that?  The only state  that  :loser: Rubio will win going forward is the state of denial.

I too find it incredulous how the RNC party is trying to trip him up every chance they get, and with such hostility and contempt.   (which have proven to be ineffective).  In the end it will help Trump when he goes up against Clinton in the general.

It will be a beautiful door...and since the Mexicans are going to build it, it will be hacienda style with an American flag mosaic. :-)
