The problem isn't that you people are so smart the rest of us are jealous...the problem is your elitism causes you to BELIEVE you're intellectually superior. There is more than one kind of intelligence. Just because one can read (and semi-understand or quote from) Finnegan's Wake or Mein Kampf doesn't mean one has a lick of sense. Just because one has taken all the recreational drugs known to man doesn't make one street smart. Being afraid to say something politically incorrect doesn't make one able to understand what real struggle is. Empathy (regardless of whether you're encouraging your 4 year old to cry over every little thing) is a kind of intelligence that requires one to focus on the needs of others. One can mouth "house the homeless", "poor children need more", "gays should be able to marry" but as long as one is unwilling to open one's own home (imagine all the homeless who would have shelter if every DUmmie would just take a couple in), feed and clothe the "poor" children in your neighborhoods, and stop using "bet he's gay" as the biggest insult you think you can make against Republicans, you can't even claim the most basic understanding of your fellow humans. Being against the war doesn't make you smart either, it means you have a different OPINION than others who support it. My son has an Arabic teacher from Iraq. Her family lives there. She's traveled around the world and has a PhD, speaks Arabic and English fluently...I'd say she pretty much qualifies as "smart" and she supports the war. Lastly, scoring high on an IQ test isn't the same as having wisdom. I'll take "street smart" and wise over a liberal arts degree any day of the week (before anyone gets their panties in a wad, I was a lit major and DO read Finnegan's Wake...it doesn't get more liberal artsy than that).
